I stayed at Meson Santa Rosa Hotel for three nights in late November. I chose the “Imperial King” room for my stay. On the positive side, the room was quite spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the room was mostly quiet.
Unfortunately, there are significant challenges to discuss
A bit about the room. The first thing we noticed the art installation that was significantly damaged. There was thick dust throughout the room and a shag rug under the sitting area that was visibly dirty. The bath towels and bathmat were torn and frayed. There were no hand towels.
The public spaces were likely the biggest disappointment. The website displays a clean and beautiful pool area, but the actual experience was very different from the pictures. There were no umbrellas, no cushions, no pool towels, no water service (or service of any kind), no music, and the water was dirty. Other public spaces followed suit. Couches were dirty with visible stains. Chairs, tables, and plants were covered in dust. Decorations were haphazard. The entire hotel needs some cleaning and maintenance attention.
As a result, we spent as little time in the hotel as possible and even wound up checking out a day early. After at least 5 calls, and 2 contacts by Expedia, the hotel did refund unused day.
I would not recommend this hotel to anybody until the hotel leadership decides to spend some time making the space great. There is so much potential, but unfortunately, so much neglect.
