We had a very nice stay. Staff was very accommodating and responsive. Room was very nice and clean. Keep in mind that this is an older traditional mansion style home with very good amenities, so I believe any reviews that you read from others referencing the “dated” nature of anything is misguided and not aligned with expectations. If you want modern, go to a hotel, if you want history, and traditional look in a manor type setting, then this place is perfect. It is very charming and a perfect setting close (walking) to all amenities in town. Would definitely stay again.

This place was awesome. The staff was excellent and so accommodating. The breakfasts were delicious . My daughter and I wanted to sit outside on their couches with a bottle of champagne and some goodies we brought . They pulled out cutting boards and cheese knifes for us to use that made our experience perfect on a beautiful fall day !

We had a wonderful stay at the Nathaniel Lord Mansion. It was the right blend of having super helpful staff around but at the same time feeling like you were on your own in your own home. I loved that they thought of all of the little things you would care about like water for your room, sweet treats (the cookies were great) and how to get around. We also liked that we could easily walk to everything but we also used the bikes for exploring a bit further away. It was a delightful stay all around.

My sisters and I stayed here on our annual sisters’ trip. It could not have been better! We enjoyed the lovely grounds, historic rooms, home made breakfasts, and bikes. It was perfectly located with easy walkability to town (but not in the thick of it), bike-able to the beach, and wonderfully quiet. The staff was the perfect level of attentive. Honestly I can’t think of anything that could have been improved! Highly recommend booking your stay here.

Staying at the Captain’s Collection was such a delight! The property is absolutely beautiful, and everyone we encountered was so friendly, kind, and welcoming. Breakfast each morning was such a treat and made the stay feel even more special. The location couldn’t have been better, everything in Kennebunkport was within walking distance, which made exploring the town so easy. They also have bikes available for guests to use, which was such a nice touch, although we unfortunately didn’t have enough time to take advantage of them. My only wish is that we could have stayed longer in Kennebunkport! We truly loved our time here and would absolutely stay at the Captain’s Collection again.

All the inns in n the collection are very nice and the location is very convenient. You can easily walk to shops and restaurants. Our room was a nice size with a couch and fireplace, but the bed was uncomfortable. The seating areas outside are very nice and so convenient to have bicycles, towels and beach chairs available for guest to use. Breakfast was simple, but more than enough to start the day and always something warm and fresh to eat. Best chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon. I would easily recommend this place.

This hotel is in a fantastic location, within walking distance to everything Kennebunkport has to offer. What makes it truly special is that the property is made up of distinct, beautifully restored historic sea captains' homes that you can book for your stay — a charming and unique experience you won't find just anywhere. The staff was incredibly helpful, offering great recommendations on local sights and dining. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Kennebunkport!
