Great place to unwind

Great location! Our room was immaculate clean and amazing view from our balcony. Only negative was there was only 2 pieces of each cutlery. No room service was available we had to go and collect our food from the bistro which wasn't ideal. Great Spa facilities available and nice and peaceful area. Staff were friendly

Tranquil and Peaceful Place To Stay

Beautiful Tranquil place to stay. Amazing location Surrounded by wildlife. Will definitely stay again. The shuttle Bus service that picks you up and drops you back from the Cypress Lakes Resort is awesome. The only negative would be the heated pool and spa were not heated which was disappointing. The spa was also broken so no bubbles or heat

Elysia is a fabulous property in the Hunter Valley. Rooms are spacious and clean. Staff are friendly and helpful. The gym is amazing as well as indoor and outdoor swimming pool, sauna and ice bath. The resort is feeling a little dated which is why I couldn't give 5 stars, but I would absolutely stay there again.

Great place to spend as a wellness retreat, or a wine-tasting weekend - OR both. If you're only using accommodation & spa/fitness centre, restaurant is 10 walk away. Otherwise, lots to do fitness, activities, spa, pools, kangaroo watching. Very peaceful.

My best friend and I went on a weekend away here and the intent of our getaway was to relax and destress from all the busyness we were experiencing lately. This place did just that! Faboulous views, services, amenities. We had a few encounters with kangaroos in our surroundings, had a massage and facial and did meditation on the mediation hill which is easily accessible from all the villas. I highly recommend!

I would like to thank the staff, in particular the lady who arranged for a room transfer due to my disability to use stairs. She was very obliging and assisted by picking me up in the transport buggy whenever required. The view from the room was spectacular and very peaceful.

If I stayed at a place like this in Napa Valley it would be over 1000/night. Simply incredible views over the Hunter Valley. Kangaroos and wallabies outside your door. Wow! The only thing I would change is the 8am room cleaning. What the heck??

Positive Experience

It sounds like you had a bit of a mixed experience at the hotel! On the positive side, it's great that you enjoyed the indoor pool, spa, valley view room, and the cleanliness of your room upon check-in. Plus, seeing kangaroos at your doorstep must have been quite an experience! On the flip side, it's understandable that issues like the receptionist being occupied with a phone call, lack of included housekeeping, non-operational internal restaurant, poor internet in the room, expensive massage therapy, and limited gym facilities were disappointing. Overall, it seems like the positives outweighed the negatives, but there were definitely some areas that could have been improved.

My mum and I recently stayed at Elysia Wellness Retreat, and honestly, it was one of the most peaceful and relaxing experiences we’ve had in years. From the moment we arrived, everything felt calm and welcoming, like the place was designed to make stress disappear. We stayed in a two-bedroom upper apartment, and the view was stunning—rolling hills, endless trees, and a golden sunset glow that made everything feel even more serene. Sitting on the balcony, listening to the birds and watching kangaroos laze around below was absolute bliss. The beds were firm but comfy, and while the kitchen had an oven and stove, we quickly realised they were “for display purposes only,” which gave us a laugh. The staff were incredible. The guy who checked us in (whose name I stupidly forgot to ask) was always friendly whenever we saw him. The housekeeper who helped us with our luggage was so sweet, loading it into her buggy and taking it down to the car for us—such a small thing, but it made a difference. We stayed midweek, so it was quiet in the best way possible. It honestly felt like we had the whole place to ourselves, which made it even more peaceful. Being surrounded by nature, with nothing but birdsong and the occasional distant car, was exactly what we needed. The whole retreat just has this incredible sense of calm that makes you want to stay forever. If you need to reset, breathe & actually relax, this is the place to do it. Mum and I don’t know when we’ll be back, but we know we will

Lovely welcome at reception. Wonderful swimming pool. Sound proofing between upper and lower units was the main complaint fortunately this was only for one night . Pillows need updating. Enjoyable and healthy breakfast. Certainly interested in exploring the health retreat options

A very relaxing stay. The staff at the spa and the accommodation were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was tranquil and comfortable, although the thermostat was hard to control and I had trouble sleeping as a result. There is no food at Elysia unless a retreat is running which I wish had been communicated to me as I was there from 930am to 345pm in the spa, and wasn't able to purchase any food. The staff found me a couple of apples left over from the retreat for which I'm grateful. I then ordered room service from Cypress Lakes at 345pm so that it could be prepared when they opened at 5pm, but it didn't arrive until 650, and after 4 phone calls to Cypress. Elysia itself is beautiful, however, they should ensure that access to food is reliable, even if it's from an external provider. I was extremely hungry for the majority of my waking hours for the first day of my stay.
