Despite appearances, the neighborhood is a safe place. I walked to my work event every day at all hours and felt safe. The hotel staff is friendly and helpful. "The Steigenberger Hotel Am Kanzleramt (hard name to remember!) by the Berlin Hauptbahnhof is excellent. Very convenient location, nice rooms and a great spa which is complimentary for hotel guests. I've stayed here twice, and would definitely stay here again if I come back to Berlin!"
