I am surprised to be asked to review this property. We never checked in. We arrived after dark and had trouble finding the garage. While we were waiting in the alleyway (Gold Way) there were some kids hanging out in the construction site across from the building and a guy who went in and out of the unlocked lobby of the building. Probably totally innocent but it freaked my daughter out. After about 15 minutes in the alley we heard back from the building owner or manager. We went in to look at the apartment hoping my daughter would feel better after seeing the place. The apartment itself was very nice but the damage had already been done. My daughter just did not feel safe. I was not going to make her stay there. I contacted the owner and Expedia. Expedia was supposed to respond to my concerns - agent said it was a "top priority" but I never heard back except for surveys asking me to rate "check-in" and review our stay. We never checked in. We did not stay there. I don't expect a refund. It was our choice and our last-minute decision not to stay. If we had arrived in the daytime it might have felt different. If I hadn't been with my daughter it would have felt different. But the night-time arrival, dark alley & unlocked lobby in what felt like a sketchy area combined to make it feel unsafe. I don't know Pittsburgh well. It might have been a fine neighborhood. A few exterior pictures of the alley might have prepared us. We went to a hotel.
Great property! Apartment was very spacious and clean, equipped with everything I needed. Made me feel like I was home. Great location too! Will for sure stay here next time I come visit Pittsburgh. Only issue was the radiator in the living room makes noise and waters leaking from it. Other than this, it was perfect.
