Wonderful place and lovely host. Their bioluminescence tour with Luis was amazing! Bed is comfortable. Be aware that there is no AC and it is 80 degrees at night. They have a great set up, fans pointed at the beds. Highly recommend this proprty!
if you are looking to stay in the jungle, this is an awesome spot! We got to see plenty of wildlife. It was quiet and clean for being an outdoor space.
Bahia Rica Was an oasis in Paquera. We stayed for one night and did the bioluminescent tour and Isla Tortuga. The guest house was a rustic sanctuary where you feel one with nature. Lots of monkeys, and beautiful birdwatching. 253 steps down to a secluded beach where we had breakfast and we’re given various choices of cuisine. Isla Tortuga was awesome with Juan as a guide. We saw so many different types of animals, including spider, monkeys, incredible starfish, and sharks. If you have the chance, book a night or several at Bahia Rica.

Wooden cabin in the woods
The property is 1,5 km from the ferrylanding, mostly uphill. Without a car you need to walk or pay the taxidriver whatever he asks (5000 colon, which seemed to be a ripoff for this distance). The little cabin is on a closed private hillside property with a nice secluded beach. The proximity of bioluminescence tours are its advantage. There are howlermonkeys and iguanas and birds around the house.
The little wooden cabin has an openair kitchen and a privet outside bathroom.
They provide good breakfast with more options.
The property has a special laidback, hippie style atmosphere.
Downside was that the little cabin and the beach and mainbuilding area was connected with more than 300 steps, and the little cabin gets very hot at nights, the provided fan did not helped. The bed isn't too comfortable and the house is barely bigger than the bed itself, it was hard to squeeze in the two mediumsize backpacks we were travelling with.
It coud have been cleaner.
