"This resort is really an “old school” 5 star type of hotel. The rooms are not very large but everything is very efficient and in working condition. The staff is incredibly helpful and ready to “go above and beyond” to make your stay enjoyable. But the main part is the location! It is 10 out of 10 and better than any postcard view one can imagine. If we have a chance we are coming back."
"The views at Ella Alkyna are breathtaking, and the water is the clearest I have ever seen. The beach and boardwalk connecting the resort to town create an unforgettable experience. The natural beauty here is truly world-class and the main reason I would recommend visiting.
That said, there are several areas that need improvement. Although the resort is all-inclusive, we were only able to make two restaurant reservations during our five-night stay. Otherwise, we were limited to the main buffet, which was fine but became repetitive. I would recommend trying some of the nearby restaurants along the beach for more variety.
Housekeeping was disappointing. Trash, dirty dishes, and housekeeping carts were often left in the hallways overnight or for multiple days. We also requested laundry service and received little communication until shortly before checkout, only to find out our clothes had not been cleaned.
The resort also arranged a boat excursion and transportation. When we returned around 1:30 PM, transportation refused to take us back immediately because they wanted to wait for more guests, resulting in a three-hour wait.
Service was inconsistent. At one meal, a staff member dropped dishes near our table, leaving broken glass and coffee at my feet. No apology was offered, and after moving tables we were not served again during the meal.
Overall, the beauty of Ella Alkyna cannot be matched, but improvements in housekeeping, communication, and guest service are needed."
"Great facilities. Ideal for families. Lovely little resort outside the hotel. Had comfort room with sea view. Very basic, no hair dryer, only 2 plugs so not ideal for 3 people with phones etc. Bathroom needs renovation and room was very noisy. Gorgeous views. Has crepes and ice cream parlour. Pizza pasta and salad bar. Sandwich hotdogs tacos bar. Loads of food choices. Would stay here again but in a better room. Friendly staff and daily room cleaning."
"Room is excellent, really comfy bed. Great shower.
Noise from the corridor and slamming doors of the other kind of rowdy drunk guests made it less enjoyable.
On the back of the hotel away from the pool and airport the plane noise was minimal."
"Idyllic spot ! Quiet location, stayed in the main hotel with a sea view room, lovely balcony overlooking the bay. Room was perfect, v clean and modern, free toiletries and we were v grateful of the daily water and the complimentary bottle of wine and basket of fruit on arrival - nice touch!
Used the beach and pool, both lovely with service to your sunbeds.
Would not hesitate to return again."
"This is a very beautiful All Inclusive resort with very nice food, very friendly and helpful staff. The general manager lacked a little bit respect and friendliness when I tried to make him aware of the crowdedness in the dining room and no system in place to improve it, but only at the very beginning of the conversation, after that he was nice, listened and dealt appropriately with the matter.
Our room was perfectly okay for our 3 nights stay but it is not okay how dirty the floor was. We told the receptionist that the floor needed to be mopped and after that a cleaning lady came and washed the floor and everything was good then but I think the floors should always be spotless clean when new guests arrive without them having to go to receptionists and complain the cleanliness standard.
I still give full marks for this resort as I am confident all this will be 100 % improved and all future guests will benefit from us. And who knows - maybe one day we even return ourselves."
