The hotel is beautiful and in a great location. There is not enough parking to support all guests and the other parking options in the area are 35 - 50 Euros per day. The prices for food and beverages in the hotel were much higher than other options in the immediate vicinity.

Property was in an excellent location for getting to the sea, to the park and to places to eat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. We would recommend staying here.

Nice location in Opatija. A bit difficult to park and check-in, we parked in nearby parking garage and then staff gave us directions to their parking lot. It is a bit of a walk from parking to hotel. We had a standard type hotel room with a view over the trees to the bay. Very nice old hotel. Very walkable once you have checked in.

Nice traditional hotel with character

This is a nice hotel, well located for a stroll along the seafront and nearby restaurants. The hotel is rather dated but not in a dire way, adding character to its rooms and nice balconies. The lift can be crammed in the morning so this is worth planning for as you exit, particularly as we did with a large tourist group trying to exit at the same time.

The staff at the reception desk was very friendly and helpful. But there were hardly any teaspoons available (the receptionist told us that tourists just steal them) and the scrambles eggs, the bacon and the coffee were only lukewarm.

Awesome staff, wonderful location, clean hotel and great food for breakfast and dinner as well. Several beaches are on a walkable distance from this hotel. We were amazed by all their staff, they went above and beyond to help us and recommend anything that we were interested to try. Special thanks to Ana, Luka and Bojan from the hotel reception. Our room was clean and comfortable, the location was great and pay parking lot behind hotel was convenient but a bit expensive. The area has many local attractions within walking distance, and areas to swim. As well as coffee, restaurants and bars. The bar at the hotel was a nice amenity, we enjoyed sitting outside in the evenings. Two things that we missed in our room was having an iron in the room, and access to ice.

Nice stay very clean hotel and the staff was great. I would have been 5 stars but our room was on the 1st floor above the ceiling speakers for the lobby music and dinning room that finally stoped at 4:30 am. Started again at 6:30. I’m sure someone just screwed up but it sounded like a muted party going on down stairs all night. More pillows would also be nice

I would NOT recommend this hotel, mainly because of the staff. The room was clean, and we had a corner room with a balcony, which was really nice! We received this room because when we got there, we had paid, in advance, for a room with a balcony, and then the front reception told us we did not have a room with a balcony after I asked. I showed him my receipt, and then after several minutes, we got this room. The girl that was working with him gave us our room key, and then realize she didn't change it to the new room. I called the reception to ask about Roko, a nearby restaurant, and he said it was good, and that I could call and make a reservation. Huh??? I asked if he could do it, and he said, OK. He told me there was no availability, but when we walked by the restaurant, they said we could come in. I sent THREE messages through Expedia "message the property" portal, on June 8, 9, and 26, and no one answered any of them. It was regarding parking, and when we got there, there was confusion about the parking because no one replied. The building looked like it was in disrepair. I used the bathroom right next to the reception and the woodwork was chipped and in need of repair. Honestly, the star at checkout were nice. The day of checkin, it seemed like amateur hour. They were not very service oriented, not smiling or overly helpful, and seemed disinterested. Nice room, so-so lobby, so-so breakfast, hit or miss staff. There are better options!

Good location but beware of parking difficulty

Bristol is in a good location. Easy walk to the beach, shops and restaurants. The room was comfortable and wifi excellent. The included breakfast, while not exciting, has variety (cereal, hot dishes, cold cheese/ham, fruit, cakes) and is frequently replenished. Parking was an issue. The description of the Bristol on the hotels.com site states “Uncovered on-site self-parking (EUR 20 per day)”. As other travellers have experienced, we were told on arrival that no parking via the hotel was available and that we would have to find a spot on the street at a likely cost of 25 euro per day. Luckily, we found a spot on the road above the hotel (Ul. Drage Gervaisa) where we could park for 24 hours for 17 euro. Note that the parking meter does not accept credit cards and doesn’t give change so you need the exact money in notes/coins.

The situation is really good, next to the major attractions in the city. The room ordered had to be with a sea view but in fact had only a lateral one, I request for a double bed and received a double single beds. There was no air conditioning , it was the major problem because the temperature was really warm with on top of that the fridge who provides extra heating in the room. When I asked the reception they told me that the stopped the air conditioning because it was autumn. In this case don’t write in your réservation that there is an air co or mention it is only in the summer period All the employees are really devoted for their guests : a real positive point , Thks for that !

The rugs were filthy. We were given a room on the second floor and we could hear a band playing. The breakfast wasn't appealing. The coffee didn't taste like coffee and the water came from a machine that dispensed dirty water. I had an allergy reaction in the dining room from what I believe was mold from the air conditioner because in the lobby the air conditioner was full of mold. Also, the shower head in the shower was broken.

Great location in the heart of Opatija. The hotel has old world style and is reasonably priced. Room was large and a/c functioned well. There was a nice buffet dinner at good price, plus the excellent breakfast served in the ball room.
