"The room was clean, staff were very attentive and nice, breakfast was good, the outdoor and indoor pools were good. The issue with the hotel was the decor and comfort levels, which made it feel like a 4 stars hotel, but definitely not 5 stars.
The rooms are all quite bland - beige and brown everywhere! Without a hint of charm or Portugal.
Missing things like slippers, cofffee and tea making facilities, which I realised, on the last day, had to be requested from reception.
The indoor pool looked worn and sad.
The bar areas and various lounges were dark, uncomfortable and sad
The seating everywhere in public areas was uncomfortable.
It’s quite annoying that this hotel could really be so much better with a little thought and interior decoration. The layout is ok, although there’s a lot of walking and few lifts to the room levels, although I presume it’s the nature of the actual building and mixing of new and old.
The chapel is amazing.
On the whole the stay was disappointing and frustrating, as there are other choices with much better charm, comfort and service levels.

"Great property, large spacious rooms with kitchen, large balcony overlooking the city. The location is nice and quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this property."
"Let’s begin with Amadora area, it’s safe and beautiful area where Ibis Alfragide is located. We never once felt unsafe despite what people say. Squeaky clean compact room, hard working, helpful and kind staff. Breakfast everyday was excellent. And their coffee absolutely Starbucks delicious! It’s a very budget friendly hotel. We found a parking spot everyday in front of the building free of charge, how cool was that for a budget vacay? From the bottom of our hearts we thank you for a wonderful holiday!"
"I booked this hotel through Hotels.com for 10 nights specifically because the listing clearly showed a pool both in the amenities filter and in multiple photos. It was a decisive factor for me, especially during low season in Portugal where swimming options are limited and the hotel is in a remote location.
Upon arrival I discovered there is no pool at all. The hotel staff confirmed that the pool was removed years ago and that they had informed all major booking platforms (including Hotels.com) long before my stay. Despite this, Hotels.com continued to display outdated images and information.
This made my entire stay significantly worse. Hotels.com has acknowledged the issue but only offered ~10% compensation in the form of a restrictive voucher that requires a new booking. This is not acceptable for a 10-night stay based on misleading information.
I recommend that future guests always contact the hotel directly to verify amenities before booking through this platform. Very disappointing experience."
