Great place to stay

Wildwood is always fun. They people are always so friendly. There is a lot to do even in the rain. The Golden Rail motel has a pool table and ping pong tables that you can play at any time. There rides on the piers are always fun.

worst customer service

this place had the worst customer service ever. people were very rude and were basically stalking us and rooms were very dirty. AC barely worked as well as most lights. the bathroom and bed sheets were also dirty.

Could've been better

The only issue I had was the outdated room facilities. (E.g. A fan in the soffit of the bedroom was what brought the cool air from the bedroom A/C into the living area.) For the money, I would've expected better, but overall I was happy with the location, and the staff was attentive and friendly.

Horrible place

First of all. They had the ac turned off in the room When we arrived and it was very hot. The only ac was in the back bedroom and it never cooled the living room area. It was very uncomfortable. Second. There was no notification on their website that you had to supply your own blankets. I expect that from a condo but not a motel. So we only had the small car blankets to use. The pool hours ended at 7 when the staff left the premise. That was prime pool time and they kicked a full Pool of people Out every night. It was way too early to Close the pool. The railing were not very high maybe mid thigh level and had painted over duct tape at the joints of the railing it did not appear safe at all. And the free WiFi was only available outside the door of our room. When you went inside the room there was no WiFi signal. It was a horrible stay. I go to wildwood almost every year and this was by far the worst accommodations I have ever had. I told the man when I left my feelings and got a shrug. That about sums up their interest in providing nice accommodations. Will never stay there again

We stayed in a two room efficiency. The air conditioner is in the back room so the front room is very uncomfortably hot. Sometimes the hot water would work and sometimes it wouldn’t. We had a tropical storm come through and the roof leaked in the front room all over our belongings. When we brought up these concerns with the owner he was extremely rude about it. The pool closes at 7 PM and does not open until 10 AM. There were a lot of people smoking outside of their rooms and at the pool, so we weren’t comfortable using it anyway. It bothers my husbands asthma. On the other hand the location was very good and there’s a lot of space in the room. I never write reviews, but I’m writing this one because I think it’s important people know what they’re renting and I was surprised the ratings were so high on this place.

This place is great for families. The property is a little dated but VERY clean. Reasonably priced and a great location. So close to the beach and boardwalk. It was just what we needed for a long family weekend.

The hotel was very outdated. We had a 2 bedroom efficiency and the only air conditioners were in the bedroom which made the living area very uncomfortable seeing that we stayed in mid August. The baby pool was extremely small so it made it hard for my 3 year old twins to enjoy when other kids where in there kicking and splashing them in the face. Price was good for the location but I would not stay there again.

I stayed for a few days with my family. The owner was very friendly and we had a friend meeting us one night and they even let us know where she could find parking. Everything we needed was within walking distance, clean, quiet, and the pool was even heated. I will definitely be booking another trip here next year for a longer stay.

This motel is very small and clean. There is a pool onsite. There is parking for its guests, did not have to search all over. It’s a block from the boardwalk and beach. Everyone there is so kind. The property is very well taken care of. I would recommend this to families of all sizes, prices are perfect. I will be staying here when I take more trips to Wildwood!

Nice atmosphere

The hotel is not the most fancy place but the atmosphere was nice, the check-in lady was nice, and the room itself came with an entire kitchen. It rained our entire weekend but the breeze up on the balcony actually made it nice. It’s outdated and the beds aren’t the comfiest but we still had a nice time and it’s in walking distance of the boardwalk.

This hotel is very out dated. While the location is good the condition of the rooms isn't. When we checked in the room reaked of smoke and it's supposedly a non smoking facility. They put ash trays between two seats outside every room. If your non smoking then be non smoking we couldn't open a window for fear of smoke coming into the room. That didn't matter as the room always smelled of smoke after we came back to the room for the night. We went and bought fabreeze and air fresher's after the first night to just help with the smell. The bathroom had rust and mold in it. The beds were not comfortable. There was not very many unused outlets and for the ones that there were the plug would fall right out. There was light bulbs out and one light would just go on and off. We left the light off for fear of an electrical fire. There is over 20 rooms her but only 15 parking spots if that many. We were forced to park in the street and got a parking ticket because of it.

Clean, near boardwalk, bring cash

We booked this for a last minute weekend at the beach. Considering it was last minute and we were looking for a space big enough for 5 people, the cost was great! I didn't expect anything fancy, and it was about what I expected for the price. It was actually cleaner than expected! Great location, only a block from the boardwalk. Also was a nice quiet area, so no issues with noise when you're trying to sleep. There were a few concerns. The first thing that was weird was that after booking, I received a call from the hotel asking what time we were going to check in. I was also informed during that call that half of the cost would be applied to my card, but we should bring the balance -in cash - when we check in. I was super Leary about that request, but complied and it seems to have been ok (was worried about additional credit charges, but there doesn't seem to have been an issue). The other main issue was that the room felt super damp all the time and smelled very musty. The air conditioner did not do an adequate job of keeping the dampness at bay. There really needs to be a dehumidifier or something. The room was pretty basic, but clean, and served the purpose. Overall, if you're looking for a cheap room near the beach/boardwalk and don't mind using cash, this is a decent place.
