We stayed here Aug 2025 to visit our cousins who live in the area. We booked through Expedia so we did not expect the best room (it seems like typically we get better rooms when booking through the hotel directly but a better rate booking through Expedia). Our room was on the first floor but was slightly above ground level. There is no AC and there were no fans. But there was a cute balcony with two seats. The room was clean. We checked-in quickly and were not offered any maps or instructions about the hotel (there is a pool but we were not told where it was although we also didn't have time to use it anyway). The location was perfect for us. We were able to walk around the lake (the Bostalsee) and drive to our cousins' houses. They do offer a few amenities although we were not told about these amenities when we checked -in (we were only told that the breakfast was $29 Euros PP if we wanted to add it.). Parking was free and easy, checkout was quick and easy and a little friendlier than check-in. We felt like this is mostly a local German vacation hotel and not as welcoming to non-German travelers.

Ich war schon bestimmt 5x in diesem Hotel. Dieses Mal war ich sehr enttäuscht. Nach einer anstrengenden Zeit im Beruf, wollte ich es mir gutgehen lassen. 1. Enttäuschung: Whirlpool (einer der Hauptgründe für dieses Hotel) war abgedeckt und nicht im Betrieb, ohne dass es für mich bei der Buchung erkenntlich war. 2. Enttäuschung: das Zimmer. Ohne vernünftige Sicht nach draußen, mehr eine Dachluke. Es gab keinen Schreibtisch wie in jedem Hotel eigentlich üblich. Keine Ablagefläche für den Koffer. Stattdessen ein riesiger Schrank und eine Kommode, deren Staufläche vermutlich ohnehin kaum jemand nutzt. 3. Enttäuschung: auf dem Whirlpool angesprochen beim Check-out (auf den ich einige Zeit warten musste, weil die einzige Person an der Rezeption jemandem telefonisch Anweisungen für das Herrichten von Zimmern gab und mich stehen ließ) bekam ich sehr ausweichende und abwimmelnde Antworten. Vermutlich bin ich nicht der einzige Enttäuschte gewesen. Insgesamt hat das meiste Personal, das mit Check-in etc zu tun hat, deutlich an Freundlichkeit eingebüßt. Mir ist aufgefallen, dass stattdessen schon im Vorfeld viel Marketing betrieben wird, damit noch mehr Geld aus dem Gast geholt wird: Upgrade Angebot, dringende Bitte, schon den Tisch fürs Abendessen zu buchen, weil er sonst nicht garantiert werden kann, obwohl das Restaurant ziemlich leer war, Spa-Angebote, sogar Kissen werden auf dem Zimmer angeboten. Irgendwann ist es einfach zuviel, wenn dann auch der Service nicht stimmt ....

Zahlreiche Bettwanzen im Bett vorhanden; es brauchte zwei Tage und drei Klärungsschleifen bis endlich eine korrekte Rechnung bereitgestellt werden konnte; Kollegen scheinen untereinander nicht zu sprechen: Vereinbarungen und Zusagen von der Spätschicht sind der Frühschicht nicht bekannt

Hotel gut Küche ohne Worte 😶

Leider muss ich für dieses Hotel nur zwei Sterne geben, da das Essen dort mehr als furchtbar war. Ich habe so schlecht im Saarland noch nie gegessen. Der Hauptgang wurde sogar mal ausgewechselt. Der Ersatz war etwas besser, aber für über 125 € für zwei Personen. eine Frechheit schon allein, da Wareneinsatz der Lebensmittel ist Fraglich billig nichts besonderes ! Das Hotel ist ok , Mitarbeiter alle freundlich . Das Frühstück stornierte ich nach der Erfahrung des Abendessens .
