Good size room, and it was nice to have the sofa bed already made up for us. Really warm too, which was unexpected for a room with four windows facing the sea!

We had our dog with for her 1st visit to a hotel and they looked after her very well the room was a good size to accommodate her and we were able to take her down to breakfast with us and not leave her in the room ,the staff were very nice and accommodated our dietary needs brilliantly definitely stop there again

The hotel is clean comfortable and right next to the fairground. The staff are really friendly and helpful, I’ll certainly be going back.

staff were very friendly. Room was overall clean however there were biscuit crumbs on the dressing table and also the bedside table nearest the door and also on the carpet near to the same table. The bathroom was dated, shower head needed cleaning and there was mould around the shower area. All in all not the worst stay but standards could have been higher.

First Visit to Sea Hotel

first visit to Sea hotel, nice location & good parking. Staff friendly & helpful. Room very comfortable but not much water pressure in shower. Breakfast excellent, hot & freshly cooked. Will stay here again .

Lovely clean hotel

No longer a best western hotel as just been sold. A little tired in places with the decor but extremely clean. Good service and a very good breakfast. Hotel over looking the amusement park but didn’t have any issues with noise during the evening as it closed early. Good off road parking and Easy walk to the metro station Would definitely book again.

Sleep in a skip. The view is better.

The hotel is basically falling apart and shouldn’t be trading at present. Paint peeling off every wall because of damp, broken fixtures and fittings, stevie wonder as a painter and decorator, double glazing that may as well not exist. It was quite sad, I would be embarrassed.

Nicely decorated room was light and spacious, everything we needed was right on the doorstep. Staff friendly, nice clean bathroom. Could do with some cleaning and repairs in certain places but overall nice hotel and would stay again.

The hotel is nice, breakfast was good. The bar is good. The room was good, however the shower was awful. No pressure at all. Just a dribble of water to wash yourself.

Great seaside hotel needs some refurbishment

Staff were friendly and accommodating. The hotel itself could be done with modernisation/refurbishment inside as it made the hotel and rooms look a little grubby. Comfortable bed although bedding needs replacing. Overall a good enjoyable stay

Good location

The staff were very helpful and friendly. Just a couple of gripes. Only 1 chair in a twin room, and you could feel the mattress springs in each bed!! Could do with replacing those. Great location on sea front. Didn’t try the restaurant so can’t comment.

Southshields mini break

The hotel was nice and clean at front of house but the bedrooms and hallways are in need of refurbishment. The second floor hotwater pipes run through the bedrooms making them very hot at night, with no Airconditioned rooms it makes for an uncomfortable sleep. The staff are very friendly and helpfull and can only deal with what they have. This hotel is in a prime spot for all the beach walks and the show ground. With plenty eateries around. This is also a dog friendly hotel.

Firstly we were offered a room, in an annex completely separated from the hotel, about 60 metres from the hotel itself. It had only 1 small window, the size of a toilet window, that opened onto a lightly covered alcove, which was not secured from the outside so security was a big concern. The room itself was ok, but very outdated for the asking price of £120 per night. The carpet entrance to the hotel looked as though it had. Ever been vacuumed or cleaned with black marks everywhere, old and very dirty. It also had No elevator to reach the two upper floors. Housekeeping had taken over 2 of the largest rooms on the first and second floors as that part of the equation was missing from the hotel management it seemed. Our room was upgraded to a room inside the hotel by the night staff who were very helpful compared to the day staff who were less than helpful. No toiletries were supplied after the first day, light fixtures were both broken and replaced with other broken light fixtures in our room. And the list goes on

Mould behind the taps in the bathroom uncomfortable beds and dirty rooms could not use the bar and restaurant on the Saturday as they had a private reception going on the young staff was nice and friendly but will never return to the sea hotel again

Comfortable and close to the beach and parks with good entertainment and dining options. Within easy walking distance of the Tyne and Wear Metro. Staff all pleasant and helpful.

Stay away

No lift so had to carry 7 month old baby up 2 flights of stairs. Hotel dirty, very liitle room in breakfast. No water in the room or iron as advertised on website.
