We had a very nice weekend staying at this historic home . We slept like babies in a very comfortable bed and enjoyed breakfast made to order. The owner asked what we would like to eat and served what we requested, even though the other couple staying there this weekend had requested other items. Now THAT is special service!

I loved the B&B. The owners were exceptionally pleasant. What was upsetting was the fact that Expedia confirmed my reservation with me, but not with the B&B. Thankfully, they made room for us. This is the last time I will trust Expedia to confirm with the hotel. From now on, I will confirm myself. It was extremely upsetting all around.

We had a wonderful stay at the Governor's Bed and Breakfast. Our hosts were very welcoming and easy to communicate with (with check-in/check-out instructions, telling us about the area, and more). The house and our room were very charming and clean when we arrived. We had a great weekend here and would recommend for anyone looking to come to the area!

Truly historic B&B

Truly historic B&B so be prepared for a handheld shower. The owners were very accommodating but the breakfast is currently by way of brown bag delivery to your room. Good location for a visit to Dogfish Brewery and Lewes.

Charm and history

This home was originally built in 1790 and has the charm and quirks to go with it. The owner is friendly and helpful. The bed was very comfortable. If you are looking for all the modern updates, this may not suit you. If you appreciate history, the hard work of the owner's restoration and charm, you will love it. Wonderful porch to enjoy and a walk into historic Milton.

Bill and Debbie have a beautiful home and large comfortable bedroom. The extra touches including fruit and water in our room and breakfast each morning were wonderful additions and so appreciated. We would definitely stay here again.

new memory foam mattress, squeak is fixed, new router order for wifi.....last year was a devastating year for B&Bs, we are surviving because we are not B&B dependent for our survival.....but just remember that when you post reviews as it does affect many B&Bs other than our own as it has destroyed many due to the pandemic. We have been her for 21 years and we will survive but many do not. I am looking out for those who may not survive.

The property was very old, but quite charming. The couple who owned & ran it were wonderful. They were very friendly, accommodating and welcoming. Breakfast was always ready when they said it would be and the food was delicious. They served the best vegetable frittata I’ve ever had, and the biscuits and homemade peach preserves were like my grandmother’s. We would definitely go back.

Wonderful experience

Absolutely loved this place !!! My sister and I had never stayed at a B & B before and this was amazing ! Loved the attention to detail of this historic home and how cozy it was. Our room was beautiful and the bed very comfy. The hosts Debbie and Bill were very gracious and helpful with making recommendations for getting to the beach and good restaurants to eat at. The breakfast they served was delicious!! They also played very soothing music while we ate !! Will definitely come back !!

Lovely home and cozy room. Very quiet and peaceful with good walkability to historic Milton, and very drivable to Lewes and even Rehoboth. Hosts were very attentive but respected our privacy and autonomy.

This property is very unique as it is 225 years old. It has a lot of historical significance to the State of Delaware. The owners were very nice and hospitable. It was well maintained and clean. We will visit again!

The historic (late 1700s) home with a wraparound porch was the best part. Cute neighborhood in a cute town near beach towns Lewes and Rehoboth. The bed was comfortable, we appreciated the tea and coffee on hand, and the full service breakfast was lovely. However, water for bathing never got very hot and the wifi was on the fritz the weekend we were there. The owners (an older couple) were very nice, though we got a slightly patriarchal vibe from the husband. Even with the quirks, we would stay here again.

thanks for the review, the room you were in has Victorian tub and it does have a hand-held european shower. While they are very popular in the europe many Americans are not familiar with them.
