Top Megara Hotel Reviews
Athens Gate Hotel
8/10 Good
"The elevators might scare off those with claustrophobia. And, if you overhear a large group of various couples, at breakfast, talking about their “tour” departing in the morning, be prepared to use the stairs. The rooftop bar and restaurant were great. The staff, everywhere, were amazing. Personally, we really didn’t like the open shower enclosure, as without a door, one can spray water everywhere. On the other side, the room was tight. However, our balcony was larger than our bed space aka bedroom! Glorious views and breezes. I even took a nap, out there in the shade, one afternoon. The location is great! Temple of Zeus and gardens are right across the street. Syntagma Square is a short walk up the main drag. The Acropolis and the fabulous museum, below, is very close by. And when you leave the building and round the corner, you ease into an area with a marvelous ice-cream/breakfast/evening dessert stop. And just past it, to the right is the street leading to the Plaka. To the left are several nice restaurants. If you rent a car, be advised the hotel’s garage cannot accept even a midsized SUV (BMW X2). We lucked out, with an open and free parking spot directly in front of the hotel!"

Royal Olympic Hotel
10/10 Excellent
"This is an absolutely beautiful hotel in an excellent location with an extremely attentive staff. The views from the rooftop of the Acropolis and Zeus’s massive temple are unparalleled! The chef here is very creative and everything I ate was delicious! The pool was no less luxurious. The slight negative I had was that were not any usb or c outlets and not enough sockets. Some lamps were taped and hardwired directly to the wall with no socket covers. The room was dated. Not better than a Marriott courtyard or Hilton Hampton. I hope they improve this. I didn’t come to Athens to sleep so I would definitely come back! I give it 4/5 stars. Reasonably priced."
