We had a very short but lovely stay. The room was really pretty and very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the whole place had a beautiful colonial vibe. Oscar was extremely kind and helpful, giving us all the information we needed about getting around, arranging a taxi to the city centre, and making sure we safely got to the airport with the same driver for our very early 5 a.m. flight. We truly appreciated the care and attention.
Wonderful service! Second time we’ve been here. The beds are comfortable. Pool is small but so refreshing. Breakfast in the morning and the service is superb.
This is a cute and just off the main thoroughfare in this busy area. One of the main shopping areas is not more than 300 meters away but you’d never know it. There is some parking in front of the hotel and at night across the street. The staff are very friendly and the beds are very comfortable.
Hotel Casa Colonial is a good boutique hotel in the central section of Managua. If you’re spending some time there and need a centrally located place from which to go on a daylong tour of the city and up to Masaya Volcano or Laguna de Apoyo, it’s really good. The decor is very interesting and they serve a traditional Nicaraguan breakfast each morning. The only drawback I would say is the language barrier was a little difficult to navigate as an American. I asked to have my towels changed and the concierge staffer didn’t really understand what I meant. That miscommunication aside, it’s very charming and more than amenable for a stay in the Capital City
Love the building cleanliness, showers could use a good scrubbing. Loved Small patio with small pool. It does get windy and nature ends up in the pool, they try their best to keep twigs and 🍃 out. Still clean and maintained patio/ pool area. Beds are comfortable and with the heat the fans and AC make the rooms comfortably.
Place was nice, beds were the comfiest in Nicaragua. Stayed at multiple hotels and the beds were by far the most comfy. The showers were the least favorite, they need better shower heads and cleaner showers, they need to be scrubbed regularly. Staff was friendly and helpful. They were there when you needed them. Pool was a plus, it is cleaned daily. Due to the flora it does get debris which is inevitable. I would definitely stay again.
Stayed here with my wife for two night. The service was out of this world. The location is great with some good restaurants in walking distance. It was extremely safe as they kept the front gate locked. The hotel was beautiful, including the lobby, rooms, pool area, and patio. There was secured overnight parking. Everyone was extremely friendly and went out of their way to serve us in any way possible. We will definitely be returning in the future.
Overall experience is good. Parking is in a lot outside the hotel property.
The only issue was the temper of the hot water in the shower which is not adjustable. Had to ask the receptionist to both turn it on and reduce the temperature.
Overall it is a good choice for Managua. The location is also a positive.
The breakfast was simple but good.
Friendliness of staff, willingness to help guide you around the area. Centrally located, many restaurants near by. Near clubs and other restaurants a couple blocks away. Easy access from and to main road. Market and shopping malls near by. Place was cleaned daily, pool due to the flora will get debris but over pool is clean and its daily maintained by their pool guy. The rooms were ample and beds were comfortable, most comfortable beds in nicaragua. The staff Oscar and everyone else went above and beyond. The have night watch all night, gate is always locked. The place alone make you feel safe. Car is locked in their private parking once you are ready to lock it for the night. Will definitely come back and stay, hot breakfast was provided daily. Only thing I will Mention is the Shower needs to get a Deeper Cleaning. Dont miss out, this is a comfortable place to stay. Thank you Hotel colonial
Super cute little spot. Very accommodating. Air conditioning was great! The bed was SO comfortable. Couldn’t believe it. We got in pretty late and the gentlemen Eddie was very helpful with everything we needed & had wonderful customer service. Would definitely come back.
I fell right at home. Service as soon as I arrived was absolutely amazing for its value. I was expecting a continental breakfast for the breakfast that already came included, but it was a FULL breakfast. Everything was absolutely phenomenal. I’ll be coming back here, for sure! Thank you.

When we arrived there was a misunderstanding with the check in and the woman at the front desk was completely rude, so rude in fact that my Nicaraguan wife wanted to leave. however I spoke with the man that was at the desk and we worked it out it wasn't a big problem it just had to do with how she reacted to a misunderstanding. later that evening I want to take the children to swim at the pool and there were chairs all around the swimming pool that they were painting there was laundry hanging across the back View of the pool it was very unkept like they weren't expecting anybody to Be there. Arum had an adjoining room that was not able to be locked very I have pictures if interested
Beautiful house. The open area for the lounge, eating, garden is really nice and it was relaxing. Bedroom was large with very comfortable bed and both a ceiling fan and air conditioning, with en-suite bathroom. Very central and easy walk to some nearby restaurants. Supermarket and shopping mall also within walking distance, but across a busy highway, but there are traffic lights that can be used to cross with care. Breakfast was great and lovely to eat in terrace of garden with birdsong and nature even in a busy city. Airport pick up worked well and was there waiting for me at the airport, good quality vehicle and I could pay at hotel. There was a member of staff available 24 hours /day and he was very helpful. Good value. Only two minor negative comments were that the hairdryer in bathroom came apart when I picked it up showing electric internals, so unsafe to use. I also booked a taxi to another part of Managua the next day which was obviously something the hotel don't regularly arrange. It was safe, but the condition of the taxi was fairly poor. Being accustomed to Managua and speaking Spanish I did not feel too concerned as I also knew where I was going. If that had not been the case I may have felt nervous as a female travelling alone. However, overall I was delighted with this hotel and would happily stay there again.
