"We only spent one night, but loved the tranquility of the Safari Lodge. We were the late October, so there were very few guests (and it was quite inexpensive). "Very clean room.Lovely pool. The hotel is out of the way near the river. We loved the tranquil setting. Apart from our safari trip (which was arranged by the owner) we didn’t leave the hotel, which suited us because the food provided at the hotel is delicious. The only negative thing I would say is they could do with upgrading the recliners by the pool. "

"Unfortunately I am not able to review Dil Lanka Safari Resort, because when we arrived, the manager was very surprised to see us and said that he had no booking from us (three people, two rooms). Ultimately it was resolved (with help from our Sri Lankan driver) and we were given our money back (booking was prepaid). The grounds looked nice, so you could take your chances, but make sure you do nót prepay your reservation."

"This could be something so special. The location itself is amazing and the accommodation for ‘camping’ is incredible. The service wasn’t great however. As kind as everyone was the timings were very off. Being told we needed to be ready for breakfast at 8 and not being served till 9.30. The same for dinner. We also told them we needed to leave on the final day at 7.30 so wanted breakfast at 7. We arrived at the breakfast tent at 7 and no one was there. Unfortunately it was the same for the bush walks and the other activities. We request to do the 16km walk they advertised in their welcome message and on their website and they told us it wasn’t possible. We were told there would be a bush walk at 9 and we didn’t leave till 12 which was fine for us but for an 84 year old guest in the group it probably wasn’t the best time of day to go walking and all the animals would have been hiding from the sun. Such a shame as your rely so heavily on the hotel team given you are in the middle of no where "
