  • I took this in March in Sintra, Portugal! It's at the fairy tale castle Pena Palace :). This is one of the lovely close-up views. It's is a Romanticist castle that stands on the top of a hill in the Sintra Mountains. And undoubtedly one of the most iconic places in Portugal. And a dream come true to visit it! It is a national monument and constitutes one of the major expressions of 19th-century Romanticism in the world. The palace is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the Seven Wonders of Portugal. Great staff and location, very nice breakfast. Our room was the main drawback - WiFi and a/c temperamental. Avoid booking small double in main house and book in new wing instead

Awesome Apartment and Location

Our host Armie made our stay pleasant, she was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great! The apartment was spacious and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was within walking distance to Historic Sintra and tourist sites. Parking on site made our stay worth it. We loved this place.

Wonderful!

This place was perfect! The location was wonderful. The bus stop to two castles were right in front of the house and a path into town to visit two different castles was right off the rear. The house was beautiful. The service was amazing and the breakfast was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a beautiful and convenient stay in Sintra

This is a beautiful property outside the hustle and bustle of the town of Sintra. It helps to have a car if staying here, but Uber is an option. Breakfast is delicious and the staff are wonderful. Armie runs the place and is very friendly and efficient. She makes sure everyone has a positive experience. We are within walking distance of Pena Palace and the Moors castle. Even walking into town is only 25 minutes. You won't regret staying here!

Quinta Velha’s a gem tucked in Sintra’s hills, about a 10-minute walk from Pena Palace and the village center. It’s a small, upscale B&B on two hectares of forest, with a cool mix of old Portuguese charm and modern touches—think restored 1800s beams paired with sleek furniture. We stayed in one of the six suites, which felt cozy and private, like a boutique hideaway. The place was redone in 2019, so everything’s fresh but still has history. The lounge is great for chilling, with a fireplace and big windows. There’s a pool out back that catches the sun, surrounded by trees, perfect for relaxing after sightseeing. Armie, the host, was awesome—super welcoming and cooked us killer breakfasts and dinners, like something you’d get at a top restaurant. It’s quiet, away from Sintra’s tourist buzz, but close enough to walk to the palaces or grab dinner in town. Go there! You’ll love it!
