We arrived at 14.30 and had to wait 15 minutes for someone to arrive on reception to be told the room was not ready and to go away for an hour. When we returned we were showed our room on the ground floor which we booked as a family room with a sea view and it looked at the carpark. "We rented the stand alone cottage which had a very well equipped kitchen including an orange juicer so you could make your own juice, and a covered veranda that looked over the valley and up towards the castle. Did I also mention Nafplion is surrounded by orange groves and so is Khymeni? Alex was great at checkin and so were the cleaners. We managed to do our laundry at the local laundromat and dry it on a clothesline we bought. We felt close enough to Nafplion to enjoy the village yet far enough away that we had privacy. Nafplion is a great base from which to explore Epidaurus and Mycenae as well as Palamidi Castle. It was a perfect place to spend four days mid trip."
