"This is a fabulous hotel just across from the famous geyser, on the golden circle. We were there only one night and I wish we would’ve had more time there. The rooms are modern, with all the amenities you might need. Everything about the room was exceptional: the bed was very comfortable, the shower had plenty of water, pressure and hot water, and they had blackout curtains to help with the midnight sun. In addition, we thought the restaurant was outstanding. The food was delicious. The service was definitely on point. The location of the hotel is right across the road from one of the major sites on the Golden circle."

"This is a basic hotel/hostel with no frills. PERFECT for travelers of Iceland given you are in your room to sleep and shower. It was safe, quiet, grocery store near by as well as petro and a bakery. LOVED IT!"

"We never heard other guests. It felt really private. The staff was all friendly. The food at the restaurant was great. The breakfast buffet was very good but was the same everyday. The location was perfect. We had a rental car, shout out to Sixt, and hit so many beautiful sites. We really enjoyed our stay. Thank you Hotel Grimsborgir. "

"Conveniently located next to the geothermal area and geysers. cozy and quiet hotel with free coffee and tea 24/7 accessible. The staff was friendly and nice. The room was spacious and clean with a nice view of the geysers. We had a lovely one-night stay during our ring road trip. Recommended!"

"The hotel offers a very good AM buffet in the main dining room that seems price inclusive for most guests. Their evening menu offers a nice range of food options but I was disappointed in the recommended lamb dish which was a bit undercooked with a hint of tired butter or grease in the sauce. My wife fared better with arctic char. Weekend table service seemed a bit spotty as well. Rooms are super clean, well appointed with nice shelving, and the beds are very comfortable with euro style individual duvets for cover. Would absolutely stay here again if we do a return visit to Iceland as the location is quite convenient for South Island tourist destinations and the hotel is superb!"

"Arrived 9pm or so. Sauna & hot tub closed already despite daylight til after midnight. No upgrades were available to me per hotel. Hotel did not appear full. Room was ok, small, clean, twin beds and a cot which was extremely uncomfortable. Bathroom, huge however no hot water for morning showers. Informed clerk and was offered a free soda. Free breakfast was good. Technology great. Nice sitting areas throughout probably for viewing the northern lights."
