This was a quaint comfy stay! The owner has put a lot of love and attention into the property, and it was really cool to see what it was before she did all the work. She did a great job fixing it up! The breakfast is delicious and very generous!
The only minor thing was there wasn’t any WiFi. It is a somewhat remote location so that’s understandable. Overall a great stay and if you’re looking for an authentic Greek experience this is it!
Den fedeste lejlighed at bo i. 105 m2. De skønneste mennesker.
Dejlig udsigt. Dejligt stille.

Dark rooms, not exact as on photos
Photos of the room are composition of several rooms with excellent light. In real room is dark with view from windows -> see photos. Our accommodation was alone besides ruins.
Breakfast was pretty good and also service.

Don't let the quaint pictures fool you! First off, we picked this place because it was advertised with a restaurant/ taverna, which we told was closed when we arrived. Although the check in experience was wonderful (beer and cookies in an adorable reception area), the buildings next to the lodgings were all run down. While we intended to stay two nights, we left after one when my husband told me there was a mouse nibbling in our mattress while we were sleeping! I emailed the owner to complain and get my money back for the second night but I never heard back!
If you are looking for a place to relax then stay at Vileati. In the morning you will hear cocks waking the village, goats' bells gently ringing on the way to pasture or back home. Glorious sun in the morning just above the mountains gets you going. Food in Vilaeti taverna is very good, try Greek salad as in my opinion it's the best in Crete. The facility itself is comfortable and you will have everything you need for your stay. Enjoy.
Cozy studio in a lovely traditional Cretan village
We just spent 2 wonderful nights at Vilaeti guest house, and would have loved to stay longer. Upon our arrival, the owner welcomed us with fresh orange juice and homemade cookies. Later she showed us a studio and an apartment, that we could choose from for the same price. The apartment was a traditional Cretan house, but a bit dark for our taste. So we chose the studio instead, which was smaller but very cozy and has a private balcony. The breakfast (included in the price) was excellent, and so was the dinner (the guest house has its own restaurant and all the food was from local products). Unfortunately the mattress was a bit too soft, and there was no A/C in our studio (it was really hot). But the little village was so peaceful and quiet that we could sleep with open windows. The guest house is also ideally located on the Lasithi Plateau, being one of the last traditional places in Crete. We would definitely return to Vilaeti and next time we'll stay there a whole week (hopefully it will be less hot)!
Not big on giving reviews, but this place really deserves a massive thumbs up. Rooms are rustic, but well appointed. Owners and staff are really friendly and helpful. Food and wine are AMAZING. Village is charming with some good shopping from local artisans. Lots of walking and site seeing to do in the surroundings.
