This is the view from the top of the cutest town I have ever seen in my whole life. You will have to climb a lot to see everything, so keep that in mind if you can not walk very well for some reason. The whole town in just overflown with flowers of all kinds and it is built against the mountain which makes it even more special. Tip: they also have delicious ice cream ;)

It amazes me that people so long ago managed to build towns into the cliff faces. Go to Roque Gageac and bask in its beauty! #lifeatexpedia
Beautiful scenery fantastic place for kayaking
La Roque Gageac is one of France's most beautiful villages. In a stunning position on the north bank of the Dordogne River, and backed by a steep hill / cliffs, with little to suggest that much has changed there in the last 300 years, La Roque-Gageac is truly the perfect picture postcard village. It is about 8km from the historic town of Sarlat. Explore La Roque-Gageac The golden yellow houses with their traditional perigord rooves, line the river and spread up the hill behind. While some of the properties in La Roque Gageac are quite modest, there is also an impressive number of grand houses among them. One of the grandest of these is near the road as you enter from Beynac - the 19th century (although it appears older) Chateau de la Malartrie built in Renaissance style.

Nous avons tout apprécié de l'accueil au départ de l'établissement. Chambre propre et spacieuse, parking privé très apprécié, très bon petit déjeuner. De plus, la présence de 2 groupes ne s'est pas ressentie.ress

My husband and I loved the hotel Madeline. The location is great- walkable to everything. The breakfast is great, the bar is really nice to relax in. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. We recommend this hotel for your stay in Sarlat La Canada.
