Brand new hotel with large rooms and beautiful rooftop pool. The staff is friendly.
Sadly we haven't tried neither the restaurant nor the breakfast.

Liked: Cleanliness, staff & service, amenities
Room smelt like sewage the moment we entered. Had to repack everything and moved to another room after requesting for a room change. The flush in the new room didn’t work on my third night and had to wait for the repairman around midnight. The staff and service was fantastic though, they did their best to try to make my stay comfortable. Disappointed that I couldn’t register this trip into my Marriot Bonvoy membership too
Location is convenient, near Sarawak river front. walking distance to lots of shops and china town area. Room is clean n spacious. Very comfortable bed for a good sleep (king bed)
Well located hotel which is close to the waterfront and had a great pool. It seemed to be quite business focused, which is fine as it meant there were less people in the pool (which has amazing views of the city) than would be expected if catering to couples and families.
Slight downside in that I had to ask every morning for a second towel as they kept giving us only one, again maybe because of the business focus.
Breakfast was very good and staff very attentive.
A pleasant environment but needing a bit of extra oversight from management to improve attention to general housekeeping and service in certain areas. A new manager has just arrived who we believe will look to address these issues. Took feedback on board and keen to remedy. In a good location though. The Japanese restaurant on the penultimate floor is very good quality (albeit is independent to the hotel so take payment card).
Their service stood out. Always ready to assist and accomodate.
Housekeeping needs to do beater. Daily room cleaning is inconsistent. Towels were a hit and missed. On some days the room was immaculately cleaned and tidied up while on other days it looked like a rushed job.
Good location and services.
It was a great surprise that there was no balsamic/vinegar in the salad area (even I have requested twice), although many salad creams. It is a common knowledge that olive oil and balsamic/vinegar must be offered for salad. In addition, it is also a common knowledge now that salad creams are not healthy. Therefore must provide olive oil and vinegar for salad. Maybe the cooks need to be updated in catering knowledge.

Sheraton should do better
The room and bed are comfortable, clean and neat. People are nice, friendly and helpful. However, the ceiling above the shower head is leaking very badly and slight mold can be seen. Breakfast quality is good as well but cutleries and plates are not properly cleaned. Several dried-up food stain can be found on the cutleries and plates. Overall, I would say ok but I expect Sheraton to do better since they charge so expensive per night.
Excellent service by the staff at the check in and concierge. but hotel is still rectifying many defects around the hotel and in the rooms. the facilities are mostly not ready. Gym, pool, Japanese restaurant, are all not available. We also can’t go up to the top floor to look at the view since these facilities are located up there and the lift buttons and disabled. Yet they are charging full rate for this period. Check back again next year after March maybe, if you want to use these facilities. We were able to check in early which was great.
Would have given it a 5 star rating as I was very impressed initially with the service, room condition, etc. As I stayed on then i realised there are a number of issues. Though it is a less than a year old the hotel has certain areas barricaded due to repairs? or structure not completed? Phone line for the whole hotel was completely out of service from 12 - 13 July.
Then I discovered that amongst the 3 rooms we (friends) stayed in and we all booked the same Superior rooms, my room and another friend's were on the 7 and 5 levels. The other friend was on level 10 with better view. To add insult to injury, his room has a coffee making machine.
Room service was also another issue. Bath towels not replaced though left on the floor, found them hanging up again, face towels were absent and even floor mat/towel was missing. Even tea packets were not replaced even though container was empty. All these happened on different occasions.
Seriously we (all of us) had decided we would not stay here on our next return. We had stayed in other so-called not 5 star hotels in Kuching but as bad as this.
I have not subscribed in the Breakfast option, as my work required to leave the hotel early. However, it's convenient to access to local food around the hotel, it's all walking distance.
The Bed was comfortable. i sleep like baby everynight. i have spent a week in the hotel. Nothing to nitpick. Overall, its a good choice of hotel
