Clean, Friendly Staff, but you can hear noise
Friendly staff who is kind and helpful! The biggest drawback of this hotel is that you can hear noise from the hallways and the room above you. The staff works hard to keep it clean, so that isn’t the issue.

when i checked in the room wasn’t ready. I waited 2 hours and the room still wasn’t ready. Hotel staff then said they would move me into a suite free of charge. She gave me the keys for the new room and when i went to it the room was dirty, unmade dirty sheets and had been smoked in. I went back to the front desk and they apologized, but still had to wait another hour for a room to be cleaned.

This property has recently changed hands and the liquor license was not transferred so the little whiskey drinking area is not open any more. They do have a patio area out back that is nice. Clientele is mostly oil guys and workmen. Hence, the black sheets and navy blue towels! We did have a wonderful time at the Pipe. It is a little local watering hole within walking distance. We had the taco special, 2 for one drinks and got to play bingo for $1 or $2 dollars a card! It was a blast! (Mary a local, won twice!) Locals couldn't have been nicer! Highlight from our trip!

Poorly staffed but the lone worker did all he could by himself. The road going to the hotel was not paved. Bare bones hotel. Made for oil workers not people looking for a nice hotel experience. No hair dryers. Complimentary snack was 1 bottle of water and 1 bag of pretzels! Had a fridge anyway!

Hello thank you for the review for the Hotel Dakota. we are very sorry for your experience at the property. Unfortunately as with most businesses in the Us we struggle with staffing issues. The employee that was there is our assistant manager and does a fantastic job taking care of all guests. We do always only carry one front desk person as well as house keepers. The road that you came in on must have been the side road which is not the main entrance , there is a paved road coming into the hotel on the south side . Over the last 3 years we have done extensive remodel to the outside as well as lobby areas and have started working on the rooms. All rooms do have hair dyers as well as microwaves and coffee pots and we encourage all guests to please let us know if there are any issues or anything special that they may need .Im very sorry that your stay wasnt everything you hoped for we take all reviews very seriously as do our staff. Next time you are in town please check out our sister hotel The Mountainview Hotel , which is also in Killdeer. This hotel is the signature Hotel for our brand.

10 stars!!
Room was very clean, smoke free and the breakfast is pretty good! Parking is very spacious, there is a gas station across the hotel and down the street a restaurant, gym and a few spots! I recommend it here. The staff is always very friendly.

The room is small, but okay. The recliner was comfy and there was a fridge and a 700 watt microwave. Plus a counter in lieu of a desk, desk chair was comfy. Bathroom was also tiny, but clean. Can’t comment on breakfast, because we didn’t have it! The bed was extremely comfortable! The air conditioner was soothingly noisy. So that’s the good stuff - oh, plus the bottles of water and crackers in the room. However…why the hotel called several times between 7:30 and 7:45, to see if we were still coming, was both puzzling and annoying. We were in the dark in an h familiar place and had trouble even finding the place! Then the clerk said he had given us a second floor room - no elevator! With luggage and a cooler and a heavy camera bag, we asked for a first floor room. He wasn’t happy and CHARGED US AN EXTRA $10 FOR A FIRST FLOOR ROOM!!! Outrageous for a minimal room. We will definitely not be back!

My apologies for the phone calls, At the time of your stay we had very little rooms left and If it is after the check in time we do call to confirm that our guest is still coming. As for the price difference to get on the bottom floor we had to put you in a king room which is a $10.00 difference. Please give me a call at you convenience to discuss your concerns.
