Staff was really helpful. Hotel was surprisingly quiet for being right in the middle of everything.
Staff super nice and helpful at all times! Rooms were clean and comfortable! Area, once you get into the main road is very busy as is all of Kathmandu, super close to Thamel for shopping and/or dining.
I will def come back!
With my first trip to Nepal and booking hotel online - I was not sure how it all work out. When I arrived - the stuff was super helpful (Benot at the reception is a great host).
The property is lovely - the bulding is 105 years old and you feel like you are in a different era. Sujal, the manager was super helpful with advise and organisation of the car and guide to tour the Unesco Heritage sites and more.... The price ($18) for the room included breakfast and all in all all the stuff are there to make your stay comfotable and enjoyable. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL to anyone who is coming to Kathmandu for a short or long stay! What a find!!!!
We don't want to comment about it ... Just one suggestion!
They have required services for the guests but they doesn't have service standards and core standards to wow the guests . Way of communication is really bad and they tell lie to trap people which makes them look fraudulent.
Sorry for my words but this is what I felt with my girlfriend when we stayed there .
Kathmandu Boutique Hotel was perfect for our stay in Kathmandu. Located a bit away from the main street and on the edge of Thamel, it was quiet, safe and nearby to the main drags of Thamel and beyond. Staff were tremendous and it was very pleasant relaxing in the garden and restaurant areas. Unlimited tea and coffee!
Staying here was a delight. Authentic surroundings, good clean food and the staff were the best. I will be back to stay here again because the atmosphere was so delightful, I wouldn't be able to resist returning.
KBH is a little jewel in the midst of bustling Kathmandu. The bed was great. All the staff are superb, friendly, helpful, and extremely accommodating and the food is tasty. I would imagine you cannot beat it for the price.
Tucked away from all the craziness of Thamel, but still close enough to walk to everything. My partner and I stayed for a few days and really enjoyed our stay. Staff is very friendly and helpful. They have a new and old building with rooms. My partner and I opted to stay in the old side for some Kathmandu charm. The rooms are clean and comfortable, but beware that the staircase and hallways are very narrow in the older building. I myself am about 5’8 and we had to crouch to walk up and down them. We still had a wonderful time and I’m about to book my next stay soon!
Room was spacious and comfortable, but in 3 nights no cleaning was offered. Breakfast was the same each day (boiled eggs and potato). WiFi good downstairs but poor in the room. Biggest complaint was the staff; 2 different guys on the front desk were rude to us. When we asked about extending our stay they refused to tell us whether they had availability until the morning of check-out...needless to say we moved to another hotel that actually valued our custom!
Also wouldn't recommend the guy who runs the tour desk. We used him to book a flight from Lukla to Ramecchap - despite asking for the first flight of the day he booked us on a mid-morning flight (without consulting us). He also told us we didn't need to reconfirm our flight in Lukla - which is wrong.
Except for the owner of the hotel staff was not bothered at all about the guests.
I was asked to wait for 2 hours after reaching at 12 pm and then after was given the room in one hour.
The staff asked me to carry one of my own luggage 3 floors up after being told I had a back injury.
When I asked to join the beds as we were a couple I was told to remind them in the evening and then they would do it.
Staff was arrogant and Cold.
The owner needs better staff behaving and they need to follow his example
Great property. Staff work very hard and are always cleaning! Love the location of this hotel. Very close to main roads of Thamel and Durbar Square! Staff work very hard and are friendly. We booked a hike out of the travel agency connected to the hotel! Wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this Boutique Hotel.
Staff where friendly and the food was very good , very nice relaxing garden area. Would have given a better review if not for the cleaning.. Room service and cleaning none existance, stayed for 9 nights no room cleaning no clean bedding , no clean towels , had to get the clean towels from another room .really need to update on this.
This hotel provides a wonderful oasis from the hectic streets of Kathmandu. It has a lovely garden, the staff are very friendly and the food (including breakfast) is good. Rates are very reasonable. Rooms are clean and those in the new building are especially nice. I made arrangements to be picked up at the airport and it was wonderful to have someone waiting. I was also able to safely leave a bag there for free when I left to go trekking. During this visit in March and April 2019, I will have stayed there 3 times. I highly recommend it!

This hotel has a wonderful little garden off of the busy street that really feels like an oasis in Kathmandu. The hotel was clean, had a comfortable bed and a good breakfast. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Vey nice place, friendly staff. I spent 3 lovely nights there, the food is good, the room clean and cozy with hot shower. The hotel is 5 mn by walk from Thamel, they also offer trekking services and they can change your money.
We enjoyed our stay at KBH. We used the airport pick up service on arrival which was smooth and hassle-free, despite our late arrival. The main area of the hotel is set in a former palace and is very decorative and beautiful, whilst the guest rooms are in an adjacent (normal) block. The room itself was clean, and hot water was no problem after a short amount of running (better than many places we stayed in subsequently). The hotel is well located, in/near Thamel. There was a definite emphasis on using the hotel for tours etc - we did so for a day tour round the city, but it was good. The hotel staff were lovely. I'm happy to recommend the hotel to others.
This is a very interesting place. It's a couple blocks south of Thamel and may be hard to find It's about a block south of Chhetrapati Circle, with a small, illuminated white sign on the west side of the street, then west down a small street too small for a car. We did two stays here, before and after our trek. For the first stay, we were in the new building, as we had read that the ceilings were too low in the old one. Our room was large and basic. Most importantly, there was always hot water in the shower. Breakfast is included and is excellent. During our first stay, the manager showed us the top floors in the far more interesting main building, which we chose for our second visit. We stayed in 501, which does not have low ceilings; nor does 301, where our friend stayed. Some lower rooms clearly did have very low ceilings. Bumping my head on the stairways multiple times was well worth it, as we preferred 501 over our room in the new building. Our room was huge, with AC, lots of outlets, a gas shower, and a table and chairs outside on a large patio. We also used the hotel's car and driver for a day; it is more expensive than a taxi, but new and clean. The only minor shortcoming was cleanliness. In each room, we had to ask for our floors to be mopped, but in the hotel's defense, the dust in Kathmandu is relentless.
