My Go To Place in Kathmandu

The Acme Guest House has been my hotel of choice since I first came to Kathmandu in 2015. So much so that I started bringing groups in 2016 who all agree that it is the perfect place to stay on a budget. The staff is consistently helpful, kind and welcoming.

This property is at the heart of Thamel (tourist) district. This is a great low budget hotel. Don't expect a four star building but the garden is very quiet in the midst of all the busyness off the property. Good for taking a break from all that makes the Thamel district great. The staff is first rate, helpful and very friendly.

Good budget hotel.

Comfortable hotel in the centre of the Thamel tourist district. It is within the pedestrian zone so quiet and close to all bars and restaurants. Reasonably priced but could benefit from refurbishment. One major problem on this stay was loud disco music until 4 am on Sunday night. Not experienced this in my many previous stays at this hotel. Always find pleasant and helpful staff.

The staff was very quick and patient. They helped me arrange an airport transfer the night before with the hotel, and it made my trip that morning go well. Definitely recomment the hotel area it is very centrally located.

I've been staying at Acme Guest House since November 2015 after the earthquake and every time that I visit, I love it more! The staff is always warm and helpful. La struttura è situata nel cuore di Thamel e tramite la grande professionalità della ragazza alla reception potrete organizzarvi per escursioni e transfer presso l'aeroporto che,per soggiorni di più giorni è gratuito quando si arriva in aeroporto. La colazione non è male ed i ragazzi sono molto gentili per il resto è meglio lasciar perdere la camera è freddissima,umida e poco pulita in una settimana non sono mai passati per pulire.

I Keep Coming Back!

The Acme Guest House has become my base whenever I travel to Nepal! This is my 3rd visit volunteering in the region and the folks here at the hotel make me feel welcomed back. Also, very helpful in storing my luggage in between forays out of Kathmandu. Great folks, great place, great stay!

Guesthouse with garden

Coming back to Kathmandu after two weeks of trekking this is the place you want to stay at. The ACME Guesthouse is centrally located within the Thamel area, and its is a small and friendly place with nice rooms and a above all a very nice garden area.

Gem in Thamel

I was recommended ACME guesthouse from friends if mine. We wanted a calm, central and midrange accommodation. That was exactly what we got. There aren't many places in Thamel where you can sit in a garden plus the staff is very helpful.

Fabulous garden right in the centre of Thamel

This is in most ways a decent hotel - we had an economy and, on a later stay, a standard room and they were fine for the price. The thing that makes this place stand out is the lovely garden. Although it is so central - one minute walk from the heart of Thamel, it is really quiet and peaceful. It's also a fantastic place if you've got children with you. There's a huge trampoline and a swimming pool with a slide (this wasn't operational when we were there in Feb but would be great for the hot weather). My nine-year-old loved Kathmandu but also found it stressful and a bit overwhelming, and being able to go back to the garden and play on the trampoline was brilliant.

Wonderful Stay, Once Again!

This is the second time that I've spent some extended time at the Acme Guest Housebountiful and, once again, a fantastic stay! I spent several weeks in November 2015 during the fuel crisis and even with things a bit muddled after the April earthquake, everything was excellent. When I planned my return trip with a volunteer group, I had no hesitation in booking multiple rooms and days. The staff is friendly, ( they even remembered me a year later! ) the rooms and property pristine, bountiful and abundant breakfasts and let's not forget the free yoga classes! My entire group was delighted and I'll be back with more groups in the future!

Needs TLC

Well the staff was awesome the room which I paid for ac didn't work so we checked about 6 others the acs are old wouldn't cool and power outage common in Nepal but most places use a back up gen hard to charge phones ect the plumbing needs help I stood in shower with gross water that wouldn't drain beds and sheets were old but clean just needs a little tlc I would go elsewhere can get cheaper and better all around I've been traveling for the last 3 months in Asia so I've seen it all also leaving at night isn't recommend unless your into the drug scene

Fint hotell til en veldig grei pris. Vi hadde både economyrom og deluxerom og var fornøyd med begge. Selv om economyrom hadde bad på gangen og ungen utsikt, så var det stille og behagelig der.
