We really enjoyed the facilities. The breakfast was better than any I've seen at any hotel! The rooms were cozy, the atmosphere was friendly and the desk staff were extremely helpful.

The hotel is a beautiful oasis in Kalmar very close to the castle with a restaurant and wonderful patio. Staff was warm and very helpful, and the bikes and afternoon snacks were a treat. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Wonderful place to stay

Fabulous place to stay. Quiet despite our room being so close to the restaurant and it being midsummer’s eve and day, there was absolutely no noise issues. The women at reception were friendly and the one on the morning we left was particularly kind, allowing us to leave our luggage and refill our water bottles for our onward journey to stockholm. Kalmar is a fabulous small town to visit and surprisingly it has been one of our favorite places on our 2 month trip through the Baltic states and Scandinavia

On the way to Öland stayed one night in Kalmar, and the hotel was close to the Kalmarslott (Kalmar Palace). It is nice sightseening place!

Lovely hotel, old feel. Dinner of soup salad and bread included, as well as breakfast. Walking distance to train and beautiful Kalmar Castle. Food was great, room lovely. Staff made all the difference—lovely and welcoming. This hotel is a gem!

Lovely and idyllic hotel, we slept well here. Nice garden/ bar outside. Tasty breakfast. Also a little parking area next to the hotel. The city center is very close, quick to walk there.

The Hotel is pretty with a little courtyard where the restaurant is situated. The rooms are in different buildings around the courtyard. Our room was small but adequate for one night. Due to it being on the ground floor , it is not very private.

Lovely welcoming staff at a quaint and quiet property. The room was nicely laid out and provided everything we needed. Beds were comfortable and we had some great sleeps. The room was upstairs and was warm but the area was quiet and safe so the windows could be left open for air circulation. Our room apparently had some plumbing issues before our arrival so it did smell of sewage when we checked in. This largely went away but there were was the occasional waft. Keeping the bathroom door closed helped. We enjoyed more than one meal and drink in the restaurant. Everything we ordered was excellent. A wonderful breakfast was served each morning with lots of options. We loved the beautiful courtyard seating. The location is close to Kalmar Central Station but in a lovely park-like neighbourhood. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

There are a number of different buildings to this hotel. We upgraded to a “quad” for the larger space. It contained a king bed and a pullout sofa which we did not pull out. The room was clean and the shower good. A plus was the heated towel rack which dried a number of things in our 2day stay. Our room happened to be in a lovely old house which unfortunately happened to be on the corner of this large property. If the windows were open , it was loud from traffic noise. Closing the windows actually made it quiet and after 11 there was no traffic at all. The property is country European with a restaurant in the back (our dinner was delightful and accompanied by an adorable young accordion player in a semi-covered courtyard.) There is an outdoor hot tub ( which we did not try) and various outdoor relaxing areas plus an inside and outside bar. We were there late August and the seemingly ever present breeze made the high temperatures and 70% humidity bearable. It cooled at night and so did the parties outside at the hotel. The staff are all wonderfully accommodating both in the hotel and the restaurant. We recommend Slottshotellet
