Nice, newish, big hotel if that’s what you’re looking for. Great rooms and beds. Clean, modern bathrooms. Seems very solidly built. 7ish minute walk to town amenities along a beach path or sidewalk.

Beautiful hotel. The location is right across from the beach so cannot beat the view. Nice short walk to town. The restaurant needs serious improvement. The staff were lovely and the bar was nice but the food quality was poor.

We loved staying at Sudima Kaikoura. The hotel is great, the room was very spacious for a family of four and the view of the mountains and the beach was spectacular! The kids loved the pool also. The location is great, a short 10 minute walk to the town center and there was free parking all along the beach. We’d definitely come back!

Room was lovely. Wait staff at restaurant were very good, friendly, polite and attentive. Food was ok, we had dinner and breakfast. Dinner was fairly nice. Buffet breakfast was average. Most was not very hot by the time we ate. Which was 8:30am

The check in process was smooth with concierge actively helping with bags and finding what you needed. Rooms were clean and adjoining. We ate at the restaurant and it was fine for happy hour drinks and small plates. The pool was heated (but still not very warm). The location was nice and it was the best of the lodgings during our month-long travels.

Seafood fettuccine was disappointing- no real flavour and not that tasty. Calamari was excellent. Kids choices sufficient and they provide complimentary drawing activities.

New and clean hotel, very good room with nice soft bed. TV almost unfathomable, spent a long time trying to get anything - and I’m techie! Failed. Only one small negative, we had been looking forward to the wonderful Kaikoura sea view, but wer told that if we wanted that, it would be an additional $230 on top of what we had paid!! — for just one night.
