We made a reservation for CAD 130 for three people (my husband, my daughter, and me). After a long journey, we arrived at the property with our luggage, only to be told by a local man that the establishment had been closed for months and was no longer providing any services.
It was an extremely stressful situation. We arrived exhausted from our journey, carrying our luggage, and had to look for another hotel on our own. The area was quite dark, and there were no nearby hotels or transportation available at that time. As a result, we had to walk approximately one kilometre while carrying all of our luggage in order to find somewhere to stay for the night.
What was most frustrating was that we trusted the reservation and paid for a service that apparently had not been operating for months. In addition to losing the money paid for the reservation, we had to cover additional expenses to find alternative accommodation and deal with a situation that was not our fault.
I understand that unexpected issues can happen, but I find it completely unacceptable that a property that has been closed for months is still allowing reservations to be made without informing guests beforehand.
I sincerely hope this situation is taken seriously and that we are provided with an appropriate solution, especially regarding a refund of the money we paid for a service that we never received.
