"Unfortunately, it lacks a few basic amenities that are crucial for any traveler. The rooms don't have fridge nor mini bar, no phones, the hotel has no restaurant or cafeteria, the staff leaves at 11pm and comes back in the morning, no shampoo/conditioner in the bathrooms. They provide you with one bottle of water for the entire night. Good help you if you have a medical emergency or a stomach ache. Having said this, the staff tries really hard...maybe too hard! I received a call at my cellphone in the middle of siesta just to see: "Is everything alright?". To be honest it felt like they were trying to force me into giving them a high score: "Please do rate us at 10 because we are trying to increase our score" were the last word we heard from the staff."

" The room was perfectly clean and the furnishings were nicely appointed and in very good condition. The staff were very pleasant. The breakfast buffet was nice, a good selection. The breakfast area is cozy, a tad small. The location is great; in town so plenty of shops and restaurants nearby. We upgraded to a room with a spa bath because we were walking the Camino and knew we would enjoy a soak. The bath was very nice, but there was no soap near it (it’s affixed to the shower wall). Also, the room lacked much furniture- two tiny bed stands with only one surface; no dresser or luggage racks for our bags made unpacking complicated. Overall a good hotel and a nice stay."

"I was surprised to find an outdoor deck area. Although I didn't use it because the outdoor temperature wasn't warm enough yet, but it would be a good addition in the warm days. The room was spacious and clean. The person who checked me in gave me a very detailed guide to the city and recommended places to go and restaurants to eat at. It might not be a standard part of amenities in Spain but I wish they provided me a box of tissue paper. I wish there were a hook to hang a hand towel on, and a sliding door or curtain in the shower area. Even though I tried to be careful, the floor got wet. (I know the door-less shower is very popular in hotels these days. Maybe I need to be trained?)"

"This is a nice nh hotel in Santander . The parking was convenient . It’s near a very good restaurant called “El Bonito “ which was recommended by our receptionist. The breakfast buffet was average and was not so good compared tot the other nh hotels though the service here is better . Since this is an nh collection and not an nh cuidad .. the amenities are not very good. I didn’t see a gym in the hotel . The lobby was nice but sparse . But what stands out is the service . I had a small statue of Our Lady of the Pilar about 2 inches in size and was broken . The handyman of the hotel fixed it . I forgot to give him a tip . The reception was also good as the receptionist tipped us the best restaurant in the neighborhood ( their albondigas made out of tuna is the best ) . Though this is not the best among the nh hotels that we stayed at, I still highly recommend this hotel due to its location and proximity to the city center , the Centro Botin ( Santander’s version of the Guggenheim) and its proximity to the beaches .
