This is a nice hotel, brand new looking, nice restaurant, in the absolute middle of nowhere. It is a nice stop a long the diamond loop in Iceland

The restaurant was fantastic and the hotel was perfect for a one night stay. Our room was a little on the small side and could have been a little cleaner. The outside of the hotel and grounds could use a little work, but other than that it was fine.

A comfy conference center hotel out in the countryside. The land around the hotel is picturesque. You pass through a small village to get to the place. The front walk from the parking lot was ice covered and could be risky if you have mobility concerns. The hot tub was a disappointment, there is no direct access to the showers for it from the lobby and it was low on water. The staff were very pleasant and friendly.

We stopped here after our first day on the ring road. The staff were very nice and welcoming. Dinner was great. They had decent vegan options that we enjoyed including dessert. The jacuzzi was great even though it was -10 degrees outside. We slept great and didn’t hear other guests. Breakfast was good as well and had many vegan options.

Everything was very nice. The restaurant was very good. There was only 1 hot tub working, and the temperature wasn’t too warm, stayed at 32, so that could have been warmer.

This hotel is very convenient for a stop between two bigger towns that can be just too long of a drive in one day. There is dining there for all meals. They have hot tubs which were nice and warm, especially for the FREEZING cold day we were there. Rooms are good size. Food was really good. Perfect spot to see northern lights if it's a good night for it.

A former old school converted to a hotel. The staff was very nice and helpful. Dinner was very good. This hotel is recommended by my husband and me.

Great place
This hotel was right off the ring road in the perfect place for us to stop for the evening. The outside did not impress but our room was very really nice! It was spacious, clean and the double sinks in the large bathroom were a surprise.The food in the dining room was excellent both at dinner and the included breakfast.

This hotel is in the middle of nowhere, which is OK. But you really have to search for this place. There’s a very nice breakfast buffet which is included. The rooms are nice and the bathrooms are roomy. The outlet underneath the nightstand is a little bit inconvenient if you have to plug something in there. Which most people do.

The hotel is easy to access from the main highway. The room was clean and everything looked quite new. The restaurant was decent, breakfast included was always a good thing, because there was a small town and not a lot to choose from.

Great staff - bar is open almost all hours that the restaurant is open. Breakfast is authentic and delicious, and dinner was delightful and fancy - we had the cod, beef tartare, and pulled lamb sandwich. The rooms were the most spacious we had in Iceland (5 people. The bathroom door is sliding, so not as much privacy as some people want. The pillows were awesome.

Hotel Laugarbakki looks rather like a prison as you approach. We booked for one night to break the journey from Husavik towards the West Coast of Iceland, glad we were there for only one night. Room was spacious but poorly ventilated, food was poor quality.

The staffs are friendly but this is a motel quality hotel charging a 5 star hotel price. The property is clean but is very out of date and small. I would suggest staying somewhere else for a better price

Beautiful property with amazing views. The staff was amazing and once we checked it the receptionist was also the bartender and we had delicious drinks. The room was large and the bed was comfy. There was a tea kettle in the room and the tv had pretty good reception. We enjoyed the hot tubs outside and liked that the hotel had robes in the room. Breakfast was included and had lots of choices. They had a coffee/cappuccino machine, hot teas, fresh bread, sliced meats and cheeses, eggs, fresh fruit, cereals and so much more. We would definitely stay here again

They did not change the under sheet as it had hairs on it. The biggest issue was the room was over top of the eating area and the kitchen swing door could be heard in the room each time it opened. The room was noisy until 10:30pm and started again at 6:30am pre breakfast. Would suggest a different property

It is a great place to stop on the ring road between Akureyri and the Snaefellsnes peninsula in the winter time, given road conditions. The chicken dinner was really good and their fish and chips portions were really large. Best fish and chips we've ever had. We did not have luck with their waffle maker but there are so many other options at the breakfast bar. We got the family room and a single room and the family room is good for a family of 5.

I saw the northern lights here! The area around the hotel is empty of light contamination and I was able to get an amazing show from the auroras!
