"This is an oasis behind an automated gate that defies expectations from the street. Gorgeous rooms, beautiful grounds and exceptional restaurant. Don’t expect much from the Giarre neighborhood. The staff were friendly and helpful. We regretted the rain that prevented us from using the beautiful pool. Easy access to Mt Etna."

"The location is amazing. The property has great views over the vineyards in both directions towards Mt. Etna to the North and the Ionian sea and across to the Italian mainland to the South. The pool area is nice but could get a little busy and difficult to snag a sunbed. Our room was ok. It is a 3 star hotel but even so it was a little more rustic and functional rather than luxurious but it was clean and quiet, and the air-con worked well… unfortunately the same could not be said for the in-room wifi and when we mentioned this it was dismissed by reception as something “that happens” and was never fixed. We didn’t feel like driving at night and so ate at the restaurant both nights of our stay. The food was good but we made the mistake of over-ordering on the first night as we didn’t quite understand the “set menu”. It has to be said that the second night was like a different restaurant, same good food but it was much friendlier and there were more staff working who were far more interactive with us as guests. We were touring Sicily for 2 weeks and chose to stay here as it’s a winery and who wouldn’t want to stay at a vineyard on Mount Etna? In terms of setting it delivers on that romantic ideal but we really felt that it was lacking in terms of hospitality. Unlike everywhere else we stayed in Sicily this hotel was not particularly welcoming and we felt mostly like we were an inconvenience to the staff rather than paying guests. "

"I had an amazing stay at Dipladenia Garden Country Resort! From the moment we arrived and were greeted by a handshake from Mariana (I hope I am spelling her name right) the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and comfortable — they truly make the place special. The resort itself is beautiful, peaceful, and well cared for, with plenty of charm and character. Practical details were also a huge plus: having convenient on-site parking made coming and going so easy and access to the highway was easy. We also gave the staff a load of our laundry and they had it washed in about an hour. If you use this service keep in mind the drying is done on a clothesline so allow yourself a day before needing anything. Everything was clean, organized, and stress-free. Great on-site bar with light fare as well. Pool was amazing. Highly recommend especially at this price point and especially if you are driving. "

"Perfect location 30 mins drive from SouthEast side of mount Etna, perfect for relaxing evening after a day of hiking. Parking included. We were surprised to find multiple good local restaurants within 20 mins of walking even if this small town (Milo) for dinner. Staff exceptionally friendly. Rooms are renovated but the kitchen/living room is not; think old country house setting. We did not plan on hanging out in the common areas therefore did not affect us. Breakfast was decent (cappuccino, cake, bread and salami). Overall good value for price but would not stay more than 1 night. "
