"Absolutely great hotel. Had an old authentic feel but with modern amenities. The town itself is great. Slow moving southern town. Lots of places to eat and things to do. If you are taking a cruise I’d highly recommend it. It’s within walking distance of the ports. They also offer a shuttle for those who don’t want to walk. Will def be a customer for life"

"Everything was great but breakfast was very niche; shredded chicken or carnitas burritos. Not much else other than carb options ( oatmeal, breads & waffles). Would have loved some bacon or sausage, or biscuits & gravy or fruit. Good, just too heavy for 8 am hot weather."

"We appreciated the large and comfortable room in this beautiful location, which was better than a standard hotel room! The low traffic area made for a quiet and restful stay. The historic charm of the Mansion on 17th will keep you coming back! The entire property is well maintained and very clean. The staff is welcoming and very personable! The air conditioning works well. The nightly social hour provides guests a chance to socialize with snacks and wine, beer, or a cocktail. The breakfast is a wonderful way to start our day! We appreciated the close proximity to the Strand, where we enjoyed restaurants and shopping. We even walked to the Galveston Railroad Museum during our stay."
