"Disgusting moldy room, scam charges for smoking when you absolutely did not, security pounding on our door waking us up and being rude. Management calling us liars and refusing to do anything except move us to another moldy room. Did not have our room cleaned once in 5 days. Had fire alarm testing qnd announcements going off for an hour. Kept texting and calling, adding stress and anxiety to our trip. All tour guides, locals, even the people working at the tiki bar said hiw awful the gitel is and how scammy they are."

"Room was just what we needed for an overnight stay. It is rather noisy out by the pool due to the many roads that converge in the area. Shuttle to the airport was helpful, but it might be helpful if they ran in the half-hour (not just hourly). Room air conditioning did the job, but is rather noisy. Breakfast was fine—better than some hotel complimentary meals."
