The game lodge provides a great lion, cheetah and elephant experience as these are easier for the rangers to find due to telemetry. Leopard and Rhino can be fairly elusive and you can very likely leave not experiencing the big 5 as was the case in my instance.
The accommodation is very clean however not as modern as expected.
Staff are fairly friendly and accommodating.
The lodge is fairly well situated to get to the Kruger National Park as well as, God's Window and Potholes.
Not value for money. Dinner was tasteless. Disturbing was to catch a worker at 07:30 the next morning hiding under our tent while we were bathing. The wooden floor has clear gaps to look through. When confronted he said he was there to fix a problem. Complained to the manager and she only replied "Sorry for that". No investigation or request to identify the worker. Internet is non-existent and lights are inadequate in the tent.
Personeel is geweldig. Zo vriendelijk!
The room was very clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We had a great time staying at the property and the game drive and bush walk was just amazing! Was a unique experience getting to walk with the cheetahs and to touch them as well!
Would definitely come back in the future!
Our stay at Tshukudu Game Lodge was excellent. The room was clean and well appointed, in the style of an African hut. The staff were warm and friendly and the food good and plentiful. The safari drives were superb - our guide, Michael, was fun, friendly and knowledgable, and we saw some incredible sights, including a family of lions (including cubs) feasting on a water buffalo, rhino, giraffes, hippos and zebras. And of course the resident cheetahs, which are tame enough to stroke - a fantastic experience.
Wonderful experience all around! Ranger Mike was very knowledgeable on the bush walks and game drives. Lovely being able to hang with cheetahs! The staff was amazing!

Disliked: Staff & service
Shameless and unsafe game drive
After two nights staying here I have several things to say about this place. First, I was surprised to learn that drinks where not included in a full board stay, even mineral water had to be paid. But the worse is that
1. Drivers let passangers to drink and smoke while doing the ride, they even show no care to people putting their cigarettes out in the ground.
2. Drivers feed the animals with chips and chocolates. With so little safety that we saw an elephant stepping towards a vehicle, thus scaring everyone, and making a lady to fall off of it.
3. Drivers shout and scream and rev their vehicles to gain animals attention.
4.The main attraction in this private reserve is that they took care of three cheetahs, so you can pet them and walk with them. That is an OK one time experience (the walk in the bushes means a walk with the cheetah). Second walk in the bushes was nearly the same experience as the first one.
5. It feels wrong to have waiters pushing on you to buy drinks. If I say one time that I do not want nothing to drink, take it. I had to say "no" three times to a persistent waiter.
6. Talking about food: dinner was ok, with several options. Yet, lunch was a one option only, almost like they picked one leftovers of yesterday. Anyhow, after two days the food seemed repetitive and we got tired of it.
7. Finally, this is a private area. In general, they buy animals and they keep them in there. After one/two rides you will feel like it is repetitive.
This was not our first visit to Tshukudu, our first being in 2005. Everything was as we expected regarding the accommodation, always clean and comfortable with excellent staff who really make you feel at home.
Although the wildlife experience was very good, with the Cheetah brothers visiting the camp a couple of times, we felt slightly disappointed that there was no longer an early morning walk with a young lion or a cheetah. If we were visiting for the first time I'm sure the camp would have lived up to or even exceeded our expectations, but having visited in the past with Savana and when they had a Lion breeding program it was not quite the same!
If though you are looking for a first time Safari experience then Tshukudu would be an excellent choice
