"The lodge is well located in the Hillcrest area, close to the Main Road with it's shops and restaurants. Bev the hostess was very welcoming and seemed prepared to go out of her way to assist her guests. The breakfast in the morning was varied and good. The room, while on the small side, was adequately furnished with a comfortable bed.
There were a number of small items which detracted from my stay. Single ply toilet rolls in the bathroom, a small and well worn towel and shower in which the...

"We were fine, just plates for microwave too big, no knifes and forks, no spoons if needed in the room, freezer was full of ice blocked, safe key issue, toilet was leaking, had to put towels on floor otherwise all good for better future, management was helpful thank you "

"Stay away from this property! I honestly don’t know how this lodge got its 4 stars. The way this lodge treats its guests is not worth even one star. We were given a shabby room, which clearly used to be a shed before. The parking space is so narrow that a taxi was asked to park within 30 cm from the door opening to our room, which implied that my family had to squeeze themselves through the opening. The management was immediately notified but ignored my wife’s request to move the taxi. Only when...

"The guest house is very clean and neat and the gardens well kept. Parking however was a problem, as was the entering and exiting the property. Breakfast which was included, was really disappointing. Some cereal, yoghurt, watered down juice of no discernable flavour, coffee and tea and a choice of 4 options for the hot meal. One option was Halaal and the rest were exactly the same, only the choice of sausage differed.Surely in a province rich in tropical offerings, some avocado and fresh fruit...

"Always reserve a room on a high enough floor to avoid the noise on Chartwell Drive. A room is preferable on the other side facing the Radisson Hotel- not Chartwell Drive. Its too noisy- cars hooting and customers at restaurant clubs downstairs noisy"

"Fantastic hotel, all staff members were so friendly, helpful and professional at the same time. Great location, close to a shopping centre and not far from the airport."
"We had a most marvellous break from the rat race of Johannesburg. Peace and quiet notwithstanding it was school holidays. Breakfast was a buffet of every one would expect and much much more. The staff were amazing. I am currently looking at the calendar to find another
break time to be enjoyed at the Pearl.
I am 71 and my girlfriend is 58. We both had a wonderful stay and enjoyed the restaurants on the premises. Thank you guys."
