We stayed in a classic room with ensuite. The room was very clean. The bed was comfy. Super basic. But I would stay again.

The area is filled with 6 peacocks & some other kind of birds (Also ducks). It's mysterious to me why all the animals there (Including the 3 chickens) are males. It's been nice walking around.

This was a beautiful place to be, back from the beach in the trees . the trees were grand, beautiful Ponds and watergardens accommodation was older but that didn't matter because Gardens were so beautiful

Close to where we needed to be. shower was nice and Hot. The T.V remote wasn't working and the reception wasn't the best on the t.v. But overall it was a pleasure weekend away

In our room we found many big white worms, and there was a horrible smell outside, and one of the doors was broken. And for the price we paid was not worth of the stay, and had a unattended reception.

Cheap overnighter, no frills.
I chose a budget twin room with shared bathroon for my overnight stay. Walking distance to the marina was handy. Sure, it was cheap, but really basic. When booking there was no mention of BYO towel. #wenthomestinky

Absolutely horrible ! Staff were rude, premises outdated & not maintained. Linen stained, doonas stained, towel smelt. Pool area infested with animal crap. Mattresses thin an unpleasant. Absolutely terrible & heartbreaking

What a shame you had such a change of heart, on the first night when you came in to eat at our bistro you could not stop raving about how much you loved the place. It wouldn't have anything to do with being caught with a massive DOG in your cabin would it?

General cleanliness needs improvement.
The floor was not cleaned and mopped properly, it was quite sticky and I cleaned it with wet towel and the towel was black.

It is also a caravan/van park space, each room is individual and the door goes directly to the corridors, is not like a closed building. Felt a bit unsafe, specially at night, some travelers or people with no resources seem to stay there. You need to go out to the open (kind of going outdoor) to get to the toilet and kitchen. Any outsider can walk in the area. Does not seem the staff stay there all day/night, hence feels less security. The kitchen has all the basic equipment and the toilet is simple too. Is all clean once a day only. I arrived at 2pm with is the check-in time and there was no staff around the whole place, I called and they told someone was coming in 30min, to wait, no instructions. Someone else call me back to give me the lock box code to get my key. No customer service attention.

While I know that I paid for budget accommodation and that rooms would be small, I had at least assumed that I would be able to sleep in the room I paid for. However after trying for 2 hours to fall asleep in my room, with other guests carrying on conversations outside my door along with the screech of the screen door beside me opening and closing, at 1am I moved to the quiet of the back seat of my car.

Great stay, I would highly recommend
I really enjoyed my stay here! I thought it was very cosy and welcoming. The rooms were clean and comfy and it made me feel more at home. I also loved that they didn't use bunk beds, instead all single beds but there was still a lot of space. They also had a small room in the dormitory with a table and chairs to chill at was a nice extra touch. The staff were all really nice too. The only issue I had was that there was no one able to pick me up via the free shuttle as it was booked with shorter notice which was an inconvenience for me. But I think if you are more organised and arrange this in advance it would be great.

The staff that I met was not friendly. And need to leave deposit per pan to cook ? When the reception is opening from 7 am , in my case I needed to be ready at 7am, so needed to cook before, so not utensils to cook before 7 am.

An option when on an extremely tight budget
We chose this location when we arrived in Hervey Bay but only for one night. The room consisted of a (uncomfortable) bunk bed. That is it. Could be ideal for young backpackers on a strict budget.

Its a good hostel for value theres a pool, laundy and peacocks and chickens roaming the hostel, beautiful place although a little way out of town, you will have to catch a bus for main strip. We enjoyed our stay staff are very helpful and freindly.

A nice cheap stay at Hervey Bay!
Room was as expected. Can hear next door neighbors clearly. Need more soundproofing between rooms. The pool was nice and the kitchen and bathrooms were clean. Mattress needs replacing as it’s very sunk. Ducks geese peacocks roam about the place. The Chicken coop is a nice addition! The location was quite good. It was near the tourist terminal where the cruises depart. A nice cheap stay at Hervey Bay!
