The hospitality of the staff at the Outrigger Kaanapali Beach Hotel was exceptional. We upgraded to a newly renovated room which, with the exception of the lighting system, was very nice. Putting a card key into the slot to activate the lights seemed to make no sense. We ended up having to leave a side table on low to have ANY light during the night. Even a night light in the bathroom would have helped. There was no way to turn off the overhead light in the bar area. Our biggest complaint, which may keep us from staying with you again, is the limited food service options. Maui Brewing Company is just okay and offers a limited menu. Not having the snack bar available by the pool is inexplicable. And we heard it could be up to a year before that is up and running again? That makes no sense. What also makes no sense is being unable to charge F&B expenses to our room bill. Paying $25 per day (on top of a resort fee) for each beach lounge chair is excessive, though the service people in that area were very helpful.
