(Unfortunately, T-Mobile and NexTel are the only two mobile providers that do not work in our area - we always know if someone can't connect, they have one of those.)As for the showers, we have replaced some of the showers where possible, but space doesn't allow on a few of them - they remain adequate, just not extra spacious. We have plastic cups and coffee cups available as well as soap for the bathrooms - they all should've been in your room upon arrival. We will certainly talk with housekeeping to find out why they weren't in there - we are so sorry - thank you for letting us know! (We do not supply personal toiletries, as stated on our web site.) However, we do have a microwave oven, coffee maker & filters and a small refrigerator in each motel room as well for your convenience. We hope you had safe travels home! We are constantly making upgrades and repairs - these units were built in the 40's & 50's and have much smaller showers than are needed these days. We have replaced the ones we have space to do - some we just can't due to constraints in the layout. Hello, Your comment was left as "Anonymous", so we don't know when you stayed with us or in what unit, nor do we have any knowledge of someone leaving a night early recently. We can say that we only take reservations online through Hotels.com or Expedia for 2 different type units - Motel Rooms with queen beds or Cottages with 4 double beds, all of which have newer pillowtop mattresses, so we can't figure out which one you were in. It is our desire that our guests enjoy a clean, comfortable unit and that they leave happy and return soon. Thank you for the 4 out of 5 RATING! Our place was built in the 1950's, so we ARE old school! We have tried to keep the ambience of that era, but with upgraded amenities. We are constantly making upgrades, but there's always more to do on a property of this size. (You can't beat our rates for what we have to offer - we have the largest cottages in town!) As we posted privately to you prior to your posting here, we're sorry you were not happy with your choice of accommodations - we had a cottage available that you could've reserved or moved to, but you actually rented a motel room with one queen bed - before arrival, we moved you to a room with 2 queen beds at the same rate, which I'm sure worked out better since you came with 3 people and the room you reserved only had 1 bed.. The original charges, as fully explained, were for 2 people. Additional persons are just $10 plus tax, per night, which accounts for the extra cost. In your room, you have a microwave, coffee maker and small refrigerator. On site, we have a pool (with the only slide in town!), a huge playground, air hockey, ping pong, pool table, tether ball, shuffleboard & horseshoes - which is more than anyone else in our area. (Your could've saved $10 per night by booking directly with us.) We hope you enjoyed your stay and took advantage of our numerous activities! We have a great location, just ½ mile from Kentucky Lake and Land Between the Lakes.

Our cottages certainly have a vintage feel because of the knotty-pine interior and some with cedar shake siding outside - they were originally built in the 1950's as we're most lodging facilities in our area, but we are constantly upgrading and replacing furniture and appliances on a regular basis as needed, so they're comfortable and offer up to date functionality and comfort. We normally have someone in the office to check people in during normal office hours. However, as you mentioned, we were at a close family friend's funeral which the whole family attended - a sign was posted on the office door to let our guests know. (We made sure there was someone on-premises as well.) We usually do the check-in and payments on arrival, because our guests like to be able to leave at their convenience and it usually works great that way for all involved. Hello Mr. Waters, As you know, we had to move you to a different cottage because we were replacing the floors in the original cottage you requested and had stayed in previously. The cottage we upgraded you to was larger, had new floors already installed, as well as new mattresses, 2 of which are queen sized. (The other cottage has 4 doubles and a sleeper - this one has 2 queens/2 doubles/1 single and a sleeper.) The kitchen is over twice as large, which is nice. Our cottages were built in the early 1950's, with most having a knotty-pine interior and are the largest in our area, at great rates. We are constantly upgrading and improving them on a regular basis, and will continue to do so. We sincerely appreciate your staying with us twice now and hope to see you again in the future.

Dear Michelle, We are so sorry you were not happy with your cottage. If you had contacted us while here, we could've addressed any issues you had and made sure you were happy and comfortable. However, we didn't know you had any issues until we read your review online. To address your concerns - all of the cottages in our area were built in the 50's, but ours are known to be clean and spacious - we haven't had complaints about musty smells; we spray for bugs on a regular basis and usually do not have any issues but will double-check it again; the kitchen curtain was taken down to be washed and should have been put back before your arrival - a quick call and it could've been put back up quickly; we're not sure what happened to the bathroom curtain, but it has been taken care of as well - thank you for bringing it to our attention; and yes, there is a 1' space of baseboard missing which will be repaired shortly. Again, we're sorry you weren't completely satisfied during your stay. We wish you and yours the best.

Hi Deborah, There are two brand new Queen sized pillow top mattresses in the room you rented, along with a small refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker and new flatscreen TV. To make room for all of that, we had to remove a chair. And with the covered front porch having seating, we haven't heard any complaints until now. (All of our other accommodations have seating as well as beds.) Thank you for staying with us and if you come back to the Kentucky Lake area again, we hope you have a wonderful time.
