Grand Isle State Park

Sunset from Grand Isle State Park, near the southern tip of Louisiana. We didn't know you could drive 1.5 hours south of New Orleans, but you can to reach this beautiful state park. Grand Isle is mostly a summer community but it was sunny and warm and nearly empty for us in early March. The RV park was a great place to stay -- one of our favorites, right next to the beach and with nature paths nearby. We walked on the beach by day, and grilled burgers and sat by the campfire at night.
