The atmosphere is quiet, and the hotel is located right in front of Galle Old Street. The decor is nice and chic, but the linens and carpets are a bit worn. Breakfast is good.

The rooms are lovely in this little boutique hotel, it is located at the top of Gaul fort and easy to park and find. The staff are very good and helpful. They make good coffee. We didn’t eat here other than a dessert but the quality was good. The restaurant is small though and there are no other facilities but for a comfortable room you can’t go wrong

Best breakfast!

Yara Galle Fort is a lovely boutique hotel in a good position for walking around the town. The bed was comfortable and it was lovely to have a fridge and toiletries provided. The Sri Lankan breakfast was the best we have had here and the staff were very helpful.

A very comfortable and stylish hotel a short walk from the busiest streets in Fort Galle. Helpful staff and a delicious Sri Lankan breakfast with nice touches such as fruits in the room and cooling towels on arrival made this an excellent place tonstay.

Recommended hotel in Galle Fort

Would recommend a stay here for those looking for a hotel in Galle Fort. The premises is in excellent condition and the rooms are very spacious and new. The layout of the hotel could be better—the restaurant is in the front but the kitchen is all the way in the back, and air does not circulate too well in the patio. Otherwise this place is a very nice option with excellent service, beautiful premises, and a good value.

Good upper range choice

We chose the Yara Galle Fort as an alternative to the higher priced hotels in the Fort area like Galle Fort Hotel. The room and the hotel overall was spotless and nicely decorated. Staff were helpful and friendly without being pushy. If we were to return to Galle we would definitely book here again.

Yara Galle Fort is a lovely little place off of the main touristy areas of Galle. There is a small garden on the interior where you can sit and read or take meals. The meals that I had were good. From the location you can easily access the ramparts on the western side of the fort. There are two rooms adjacent to the restaurant and lobby that can be a bit loud but otherwise it is quite comfortable.

Beautiful hotel, stay for the breakfast

Beautiful boutique hotel. Perfect location in the fort but quiet. Clean and well appointed rooms with comfy beds and nice showers to cool off after a day of wandering. The breakfast was amazing, I wish I could have it again! Staff were friendly and helpful. Was only there for a night, but no issues and would absolutely return.

I had an awesome stay at Yara. The room, bed and bathroom were awesome and the people at the hote were amazing. From the time I arrived until I left they made sure that I was comfortable including specially preparing breakfast for me. Thank you Smith, Rizan and Lukkhana. Hope I got your names right. The location of the hotel was not far from the main entrance so getting in and going out were easy. I got in, dropped off my luggage and took a stroll to the rest of the fort area.

Great food!!!!

We loved the staff here, especially the chef. They are so warm and kind. Construction going in so a bit noisy. No alcohol but they have lovely high teas. Location good—you can walk to train station or town.

This is a lovely little boutique hotel that has been thoughtfully restored. Staff was attentive and very helpful. The traditional Sri Lankan breakfast was fantastic. The room was beautifully appointed and very comfy. The hotel is within walking distance to everything within Galle Fort.

Great stay and location

We had a great 3 night stay at the Yara Galle Fort. The room was very nice, food and service were excellent, and the location was perfect for walking around the fort. Highly recommend.
