It’s an older place but it’s been remodeled, and is in good shape. We got a room that had a nice hot tub in it. The area was quiet, everything was clean. No complaints. We’d stay there again, if we were in the area.
Really enjoyed my stay. Quiet spot off the main drag. Employees & owner were quite lovely. Room was beautiful. Will be back! Highly recommend

You can't beat this location if you want to wander around Galena and the riverfront! Everything felt clean, safe and we had everything we needed, if in a bit of strange and old-world set up! This is an old building with lots of "charm", but as long as you are prepared for that you'll have a lovely stay.
Our room at Hotel Galena was just as advertised! Nate was welcoming and kind and helpful! He made us feel right at home. I would highly recommend Hotel Galena and we will definitely return!
We stayed in Suite #10 and the room was great! Very clean and well put together, the room had amazing amenities. Staff were very courteous, Nate was a fantastic host!!
The hotel was very nice and the communication from them leading up to the stay was excellent. I didn't like the fact that we couldn't control the room temperature ourselves, we had to text the owner to raise or lower the heat, and it was cold for awhile in the room when we arrived. Also, the location is not as close to the main street as described in the overview -- more than a block to the main street where shop and restaurants are. Also, street noise during the night was loud, as it is on the main drag through town.

Nate gave us some great recommendations on things to do on this extremely cold weekend. Fireplace was a great touch and the bed was super comfy! Hope to return when it’s warmer!
Nate was great at check in. He was very pleasant & extremely helpful!
Our room was very nice, quite roomy & clean. Nice location.
We will definitely stay here again.
A great stay! Newly renovated bathroom and clean room, though the bedroom could use some upkeep. Very close to Main Street, can walk everywhere and leave the car.
Room was clean, staff was friendly and exceptional. Little breakfast room was quaint, offered many options for a quick breakfast. It was nice to talk with the other guests and manager there. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again plus it’s dog friendly! Thank you for a nice stay.

Staff-helpful from the moment of arrival. Room had everything we needed.
Biscuits and gravy for breakfast was amazing! The coffee was fresh and plentiful with creamer options.
The room is very cozy and fits our needs wonderfully.
This was our second stay in this Hotel and room. We will try one of the jacuzzi rooms for our next visit.
This was the second time that I stayed at Hotel Galena. I was in town with my wife, we visited for Galena's Whiskey Weekend. We both really enjoyed the convenience and affordability of the hotel. It's quaint space gives a bed and breakfast feel, with the privacy of a small hotel. The rooms are clean and fresh, with a nod to Galena's rich history. The continental breakfast is satisfying with biscuits and gravy, hardboiled eggs, granola, fresh coffee and juices. The breakfast room is a place where we got a chance to interact with other guests. Nate and his staff were welcoming and charming. There is a small kitchen on the third floor with a refrigerator to keep your leftovers and travel food while you stay at the hotel. It is far enough from the main street where you can have some space but walk to the sites and leave your vehicle behind. A great value.
Breakfast was good and many options available. Room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Location to main street was excellent. Only drawback was not being able to control the thermostate. When i got cold at 3 am...i didnt want to call and wake anyone to adjust the temperature.
