Very happy with my stay here. Located in old town Funchal, its walkable to the harbour and surrounding areas. Room was clean, has a balcony and close to many amenities.

A superb apartment in a very central location for down town Funchal. Spotlessly clean and well equipped with an exceptionally comfortable bed. Balcony view from our room 20 wasn’t great, but it was very private and it did benefit from the early morning sunshine which was lovely. We would definitely use these apartments again for our next visit to Maderia.

I felt at home at Vila Alegria during my six night stay. I really enjoyed getting to know the staff. They were kind and went above and beyond to ensure that I was comfortable and had what I needed. Shopping center 3 mins walk with Pingo Doce grocery store with great prices and convenient buffet with diners. The little balcony in the apartment is a great feature where you can relax with wine and view of the mountains As everywhere in downtown Funchal beware of parking regulations: Blue spots free 8pm till 8am on weekdays, Saturday 2pm - Monday 8am also free. Yellow spots free on Saturdays and Sundays, white spots - reserved for residents. Blue spots during the weekdays require payment. Maximum you can pay for is 2.30 euro for roughly 2hrs. If you need to leave your car for the full day - underground parking in the mall for 10 euros. Parking rules are strictly enforced, We learned the regulations swiftly after 30 euros fine received on the first Monday morning at 8:54am... :)

Die Unterkunft war klein, aber absolut ausreichend und sehr sauber. Die Küche war gut ausgestattet, auch wenn wir sie selbst nicht genutzt haben. Besonders überzeugt hat uns die zentrale Lage: Der Markt, die Altstadt und der Hafen sind in wenigen Minuten zu Fuß erreichbar. Einkaufsmöglichkeiten befinden sich direkt in der Nähe. Auch die Parksituation war unkompliziert: Von 20:00 Uhr bis 08:00 Uhr kann man das Auto kostenlos auf der Straße (in den blau markierten Zonen) abstellen. Tagsüber besteht die Möglichkeit, das Auto in einer nahegelegenen Tiefgarage für 7,50 € pro Tag sicher zu parken. Insgesamt eine rundum angenehme Unterkunft, die ich gerne weiterempfehle.

War 3 Wochen in Studio 30 und es war einfach nur toll. Toller Blick über die Stadt vom Balkon, schöne stilvolle Einrichtung perfekt für Selbstversorger (mobile Kaffeemaschine mitgebracht), aber sonst war alles da. Bruno hat das Flughafen Taxi perfekt organisiert. Lina(?) die Fee des Hauses macht alle 2 Tage sauber und wechselt die Handfücher. Als es mal im Bad muffig gerochen hat, hat sie das bereinigt. Die Kanalisation im Viertel ist nicht mehr die neueste. Aber sonst habe ich mich in dieses Viertel verliebt. Die Menschen dort halten gegen die Gentrifizierung zusammen. Ausser den touristischen Restaurants kann man noch viel ursprüngliches entdecken. Leider werden viele alte Häuser unbewohnbar gemacht und der Verrottung übergeben.
