Absolutely not what was written in the write-up… none of the extra things to do were available. Dining room was not open. Bought food to feed the animals to only find out on our own when we started to walk the farm that there was electric fences around all the animals - so the animals do not come close so you cannot feed them. We felt like we were bothering the employees - considering we cancelled our original plans to stay here - we were very disappointed.

Staff is so incredibly nice. I wish we could have stayed longer because with all we had planned we didn't get a chance to really walk around the farm. No A/C if that is a consideration for you, but we went in the fall so the temps were comfortable.

A truly beautiful property that includes orchards, animal farm, forested hills and winding nature trails. The staff went out of their way to accommodate my requests for beds and even provided delicious vegan options when they heard my companion was vegan. During the included breakfast, the staff were eager to wait on me, squeezing fresh orange juice and explaining the delightful assorted Tuscan treats they had prepared. Hiking in the hills in and around the farm, and watching the sun set from high above Florence is an experience I'll never forget. My only constructive criticism for the property is their need to invest in mosquito traps or some kind of mosquito control; I was constantly being bitten during my stay. I can imagine that the standing water in and around the area make it heaven for mosquitos and their eggs, so I understand why this is an issue. I would recommend some non-pesticide options such as CO2 mosquito traps that would comply with the organic nature of the farm, and reduce itchiness among the guests. That said, the mosquitos were, for the most part, only a minor nuisance, and did not prevent me from enjoying my stay here. I will definitely stay at Fatttoria di Maiano again in the future, and happily recommend this experience to others!

Tucked away but close to Florence

Arrived hungry on a Sunday evening when the restaurant should have been closed; it opened for a coach party;then 20 guests also wanted to eat so maybe staff were stretched/stressed as the whole eating experience was not good (food as well as service) a small menu with our choices not available. There are two reasonable restaurants & a Diner/Gelateria within a couple of minutes walk up the road so ate there for rest of week.The B&B rooms are up the road with the Breakfast area close by; breakfasts being mainly meats & cheese may suit some Europeans but with no cereal or any cooked food maybe less ideal for the English palate; Yogurt & coffee was good. Did not use pool as it was some walk (down the road and down a track from our room in our dressing gowns - don't think we do that).The road towards Florence was narrow and single track in places but was quick to get to the E35 ring road.The walk to Fiesole to catch the Bus #7 or the Red Hop-on/Hop-off Sightseeing bus was only 10 minutes and that saved any driving issues in the centre of Florence (traffic & parking can be difficult I believe). Great views on the bus journey. The #7 Bus driver did not sell tickets, other passengers said their hotel sold them the ticket; our hotel reception did not do that for us - we later found the Sightseeing bus ticket covers the normal bus which gave us the option of either bus coming home to Fiesole. iPhone GPS maps saved our trip around Italy navigating in busy fast traffic.

Un endroit calme à proximité de Florence

Le cadre est superbe, la bâtisse également. Les chambres sont spacieuses, le parking est pratique suivant la saison il est facile de profiter de l'espace extérieur. La climatisation de la chambre n'est pas idéale car bruyante quant à l'extérieur un bruit de grincement devra être réglé. Le petit déjeuner n'a rien d'extraordinaire pour ce niveau de prestation même si la jeune fille qui fait le service est très serviable

Organic farm with loads of charm

Such a beautiful property full of history, magic, botanical gardens, hikes, ancient ruins, with a wonderful staff. If you want to experience a taste of real Italy without tourists this is it. It seems to be a popular spot for locals full of charm and beauty. Loved this place. If you want fancy may not be the place for you. If you want to be inspired and love nature then here you go.

Relaxing apartments away from Florence City.

I was part of the bridal entourage for a wedding that took place at this venue. The hotel staff were mostly friendly, however some of them could not speak great English so it was difficult to interpret needs at times. The breakfast was adequate. I would recommend that you get breakfast elsewhere if you have dietery needs, as it is not varied enough. Our room was lovely. I would also recommend bringing insect repellent, as there are many mosquitos in this part of Florence. Moreover, the mattress of the bed in our apartment was quite insulating, so it meant that we were sweating a lot during the evening, however it was unpleasant enough to report. The air-conditioning was good. The bathroom was clean and spacious. Our apartment was a modern design in comparison to the main villas that were a more old Italian style.

Lovely stay

Our stay at Fattoria do Maiano was just lovely! The farm is breathtaking and everything you could want/need is right there for you. The family owners were very accommodating and even picked us up from the train station when we arrived late in the evening. Our room was cleaned spotless every day and the development itself is very well taken care of. We will definitely be traveling back soon!

Séjour au calme dans une des nouvelles chambres d'une jolie grande ferme à proximité de Fiesole, disposant d'un immense terrain et d'une belle piscine. Le tout à 15 min en voiture du centre de Florence. A refaire!

Uma grande decepção!

Fomos em um casal e por isso achamos melhor reservar um quarto de casal pous os apartamentos acomodavam muitas pessoas, tivemos uma grande surpresa ao chegar pois os quartos de casal constituem uma área totalmente aparte do hotel, sem viata para o campo, com um café da manhã bem simples, um bed and breakfast.O quarto que nos era destinado tinha uma janelinha minúscula bem no alto, parecia um calabolso!Tivemos que pagar um acréscimo de 40 euros pata ficar em um quarto com uma janela de tamanhp normal. O restaurante tbém foi decepcionante pois nas duas noites em que estivemos hospedados ele estava praticamente todo reservado para comemorações de pessoas de fora do hotel, restando algumas mesas dusponíveis bem no fundo, fora da área com vista para a fazenda. Embora novo quarto afinal fosse confortável no geral foi uma decepção, não podíamos usar os pátios internos da fazenda para relaxar nem tomar café no restaurante como esperávamos.A gerente do hotel se referiu à nossa reserva com discriminação por ter sido feita através do site do Hoteis. com, dizendo que estávamos naquele quarto porque pagamos o menor preço, tive a impressão de que destinam os puores quartos aos hóspedes que reservam pelo site.Ela não teve a gentileza de nos mudar de quarto sem cobrar mais por osso, sendo que a categoria dos quartos são iguais.
