"We had a wonderful one-night stay at The Athenee Hotel, and only wish we could have stayed longer! The service was exceptional, with every staff member going above and beyond to help. All staff members were so friendly, and were wonderful with our children as well. The pool area is beautiful and the gym is really well-equipped. "I stayed here for eight nights and it was great because it was everything I needed. Good location. Quiet soi. Close to the SkyTrain and MRT. Seems like a family-run place, and they were always friendly. Being an older place the room was huge and everything worked well. I asked for the room to be made up every other day, and they made sure to leave two bottles of water at my front door on the days when I didn't ask for it to be cleaned. ... The things they didn't have -- like a pool or breakfast...

"While it’s about a 10 to 12 minute walk to the main area of Silom, it is down an isolated road, so it feels like a longer walk. The hotel itself is rather charmless. Very basic and cramp, and a bit worn. What stood out is the lack of trust. The hotel requires a deposit, as if one were to trash the place or steal something. I’d go elsewhere. "
