Ok

The check-in process was poorly explained in advance. The guesthouse has no reception desk – instead, you need to approach the bartender in the bar downstairs, who kindly helps and hands over the room keys. Upon departure, you’re expected to leave the key in the door of your room, which was a bit unusual and not clearly communicated beforehand. Aside from that, the stay was pleasant. The room was clean, tidy, and comfortable. Just be aware that you might hear music coming from the bar/restaurant below – luckily, it wasn’t too intrusive and was turned off around 10 PM. The bed was very comfortable, so we still got a good night’s sleep

Advertised pic is not what we got!

We signed up for a cabin based on the representative photo and at least one review raving about the new cabin they had. NOT OUR CABIN! Nothing like the picture in their ad. Very old furniture (one small couch, not 2 like in the photo, small table with 2 chairs) and a very old kitchen wall. No dish drain. We brought dinner in and used their dishes. Bathroom sink was not much bigger than for 2 small hands. Had the website’s pic showed this cabin, we never would have booked it. Oh and if there is a new cabin, it’s the same price as what we paid! We booked 5-6 months in advance and only one price was listed for cabins on their website. No staff to speak to, either. We arrived about dinner time and the lady in charge of the restaurant was pleasant and gave us a key, and told us where the cabin was. That’s all. We did get an email from the hotel telling us the combination to a lockbox where we found another key and told us to place our keys there when we left. That was our only contact with anyone. Our reservation was only for one night, thankfully.
Very small bath, Hand soap for sink and shower. No other bath amenities.Floor was heated, so it dry fairly quickly.

Lovely small cottage behind a great cafe and bakery. Back porch has lovely view of the creek and mountains behind it. The town is very quiet and pretty (except when the huge cruise ship comes in and ruins everything, but that is not the fault of the owners). Highly recommend for a couple of quiet peaceful days.

We had a cottage with the river directly behind. Very dramatic view of bridge and mountains beyond. Very nice upstairs room with several beds, brand new, it appeared. Treacherous however for older people or people with ambulating issues. The town is very cute and walkable as well. Get pastries at the restaurant in front!

Helt greit opphold

Helt greit opphold. Det er en restaurant i 1 etg der man kan spise, men jeg ville ha Thai mat så jeg gikk dit. Bad/WC deles med 1 annet rom, men jeg så ingen andre der. Frokost serveres på Eidfjord Hotel, ca 200 meter unna. Den skulle ikke starte før 08.00, men da jeg kom dit 08.01 var det allerede mange som var godt i gang med frokosten. Jeg savner en nøkkel drop box der man leverer nøkkelen når man går, eller ev informasjon om hva man gjør når man sjekker ut.

Sehr schöne Pension in einer tollen Lage unweit des Fjordes mit tollem Frühstück. In der Nebensaison ein ruhiger Ort zum Wandern und Entspannen. Leider hatte die Bäckerei geschlossen.

Sehr gemütliche Doppelhaushälfte mit Terrasse zum Fluss, der in den Fjord mündet. Bad ist etwas abgenutzt, die Küche spartanisch eingerichtet, aber funktioniert. Gemütliche Sofaecke und großer Esstisch. Schlafzimmer im EG mit 2 Betten recht eng. Im DG großes Zimmer mit 1 Doppelbett und 1 Etagenbett: Herrliche Aussicht auf den Fluss und die Berge. Das Hotel, das das Haus vermietet, hat ein Café, ein Restaurant und eine Bäckerei. Sehr gemütlich.

Koselig hytte på Eidfjord.

Skal man ha et opphold på Eidfjord, er dette et koselig lite sted. Hytten hadde en koselig og intim plassering, nært veien, men langt nok unna til at det var stille. Utsikt mot elven med morgensol, og en generøs veranda. Interiøret er litt slitt, og enkelte møbler var defekte. Men fin hyttestandard.

Rent, ryddig, god mat, hyggelig betjening, vi følte oss velkomne. Fikk mat på restauranten selv om vi kom etter stengetid. Vi var heldige og fikk to rom litt adskilt fra de andre med eget bad, helt topp👍
