The agent sold me a dummy all because the other hotels were full. Don't believe what the website photo show. I will never recommend the hotel to anyone.
Reception no hospitality, room too hot airconditioning not working, beakfast not good at all ,linen was not changed until i told them to the second day.its like they were doing me a favour by staying there no hospitality
The bed was comfortable and the room was clean. The breakfast was not good, there was no variety to choose from. We were served toast and chicken strips since we arrived. The patio were we were eating breakfast was dirty and tables were not stable.
Phones removed from rooms.ittle choice for breakfast. Had to pay for second coffee ( bad coffee). Internet not working. TV not working. Had stayed there severall times before and it was decent. Very poor now.
was extremely dissatisfied with the entire experience !! complained more than once to the owner/manager - with no joy. was an absolute disaster ! will never, ever stay here again, nor recommend this place to anyone !

Don't book this hotel through hotels.com...they didn't have my booking and said they were no longer trading with this website. Fortunately, they weren't full but they asked me to pay for the room again. I refused, saying I'd already paid hotels.com and the matter was dor them to sort out. I arrived at 20.30, no food becasue the chef had knocked off, but I was given a Mr Delivery menu...unfortunately they close early on a Tuesday! What's the matter with this place? In parts of Europe you can't eat dinner until 21.00! Eventually the nice young lad on reception rustled up a sandwich for me.

Great Location
I stayed for 3 nights in 2 rooms with my family. The Hotel is situated at center and near to all. The staff are friendly and good service.Everything is good.
This location isn't exactly in the hub of things but I went to Durban for business so the location was perfect for my needs. The hotel is across from a beautiful park so each morning I ate a lovely breakfast looking onto the greenery. It's a quaint hotel with only 20 rooms but because of this, service is very attentive.
Most people in the comments scoffed at the shower being in the bedroom but it was actually a smart move. Had the shower and sink been walled off, both the bathroom and bedroom would have been extremely cramped. This opened everything up nicely.
As I said, service is very attentive and pleasant. Be aware that room service is not available round the clock. I believe they stop taking orders at 8:30PM for a final service at 9PM. This is important to know if you are jet-lagging on your first day in the country or arrive back to your room after the cut-off time. The staff were kind enough to call me in my room on the first night of my stay to give me a "last call" for dinner. I was very grateful b/c had they not done so, I would have gone to bed hungry (I traveled 35+ hours from Texas and was exhausted). I had the 200g steak. OMG, it was huge and delicious. There are delivery services around so you can always call up dinner if you miss the room service time.
Bring slippers for the carpeted floors in the bedroom. I was there for a week and they could use a good vacuuming and honestly, probably a shampoo. Otherwise, this place ranks highly on my list of hotels.

Hotel has potential to do better
Drinking water to be provided in the room. Breakfast needs improvement. No internet facility in room. Wi fi signals are only available in restaurant. Hotel has potential to do much better.
Very nice rooms, modern. Strangely had shower in room but very new. Service was good and the rooms were very clean. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and excellent with a good choice of different dishes like srambled eggs and smoked salmon on a croissant. Omlettes were excellent. The hotel is close to the botanic gardens - very steep hill down to the gardens. good bus service around Durban but not as far as the hotel. we walked the last bit. Felt safe. Couple of good local restaurants nearby.
We were very satisfied with our stay. The hotel was exceptionally clean and all the staff were very friendly and helpful with all our needs. Food in the restaurant was very good. Also felt very secure, as it has electric gates and your car is very safe overnite as well. Would certainly stay again when in Durban.
The hotel was great. The staff were very helpful. Secure off street parking. One thing that surprised us was the shower was not separate from the bedroom. Shower tho got top marks. Bed was king size. You need to drive to the beaches. Overall my partner and I had a good few days stay at this hotel.
I had the most pleasant stay of 8 days this past week, and thoroughly enjoyed everything the hotel and the top drawer service by the staff. this is a small place, with only twenty room, but it has a full service kitchen that actually serves real food. what a treat! excellent location that is quiet but close to the Musgrave shopping mall, with many good restaurants close by. For a biz traveller, this is truly home away from home - intimate, accommodating, attentive and yet never overbearing. I cannot thank the hard working staff enough for making my stay comfortable - exactly what I needed as I travelled a long way, from San Francisco. Five stars, for overall experience, and value. Thank you.
What a great hotel! Small, safe and comfortable. Rooms are not the largest but well equipped and clean. Everything was great. The staff are exceptional, we had a problem with our car and they went out of their way to help, well done Lauren and Jason (and our waiter who also helped out). Restaurant staff are friendly and professional and breakfast on the terrace everymorning was fab! Best eggs Benedict, just perfect. We were greeted warmly but every member of staff we came into contact with. It is a small hotel and if you are travelling alone, know that you would feel very comfortable and secure.Well done Hotel on the Park, we will be back!!
