"We stayed in a King Room on the highest floor overlooking the runway. It was great watching the aircraft movements from the room, although the west facing view means the afternoon and evening sun can be quite strong. At night, the airport remains brightly lit, so drawing the curtains is almost essential.
The hotel’s biggest advantage is its location. It is just a short walk to Christchurch Airport, making it extremely convenient for early morning or late night flights. However, the walkway is not fully sheltered, so you may still get caught in the rain at a couple of points along the way.
Check in was smooth, and the staff promptly checked us in once our room was ready. Access to each guest floor is controlled by key card, which adds an extra sense of security. There is also a water dispenser on every floor providing both still and sparkling water, and each room comes with a flask for refilling.
The minibar and snack selection were well stocked, although the prices were on the high side. Towels and bathrobes were clean, and the room features separate toilet and shower areas. One thing to note is that the divider around the shower cannot be fully secured, so it may feel a little exposed if you are sharing the room with friends rather than your partner or family.
Overall, a comfortable and modern airport hotel with an unbeatable location for travellers flying in or out of Christchurch."
