"It's a boutique hotel so don't expect much. GREAT location. However if you're looking to get some sleep starting Thursday night thru the weekend..forget about it. They party in the street or bar whatever until the wee hours in the morning, it was very loud, lots of screaming yelling singing..we couldn't sleep at all and we were on the 4th floor (which is the top floor). We loved the location as it was right in the heart of everything, however, because of the noise would not stay there again...

"My father and I just had a recent stay at Hotel Borg for three nights. We were very upset with the service from the housekeeping staffs looking after our room. When we first arrived to our room, we found out that our welcome fruit basket was empty. That was not what we expected to see at a (5-star?) luxury hotel (as stated on the hotel’s own website). "Nice looking Hotel comfortable beds ,hard pillows.Black out curtains had pinholes in them and not true blackout.WORST! COULD HEAR TRAFFIC NOISE ALL NIGHT EVEN THOUGH ON HIGH FLOOR AND HOT ROOM CANT CONTROL AS HOTEL DOES IT.Meals nice but ridiculously expensive .Lamb dinner was NZ $126.00 for 1 meal and hamburger with small chips NZ $60 Also long walk to town 40 mins at good pace .Really need car for this Hotel.Not recommended for quiet sleep."

"Great location. 5-10 minute walk to the main streets but very quiet. I later joined a group trip and we stayed in a hotel on one of the main shopping roads and that was even more convenient but so loud. Holt was nice, breakfast was good, i like that they have plenty of common area to hang out if needed. I got in on an early flight and arrived by 9 am and they said my room was ready and although checkin was 3 pm, I could get into my room for an extra 75 euros. I did it because i was exhausted but...

"5 star hotel for Reykjavik. I had a beet salad that was excellent but the breakfast buffet, hmm. Pretty much cereal, muffins and other like food. No eggs, bacon ,sausage or other things normally at a buffet. The hallways are a bit dark, there are no coffee cups with handles so I could not hold the cup. The rooms are very nice. It is a beautiful hotel in a nice location and the staff was excellent. These are the reasons I gave it 5 stars."
