"There was a bit of confusion on check in as they have two lobby’s and one accomodation section on the marina and another facing to pool area. We went to one but we were staying in the other. I was unwell and just wanted to go to the room but we were kept waiting some time and then eventually walked down to the other lobby and as we went I was told we had a room upgrade and we were in a premium room now and got given the key to that room…and then we got to the other lobby and they took that key...

"The staff was always friendly and engaging but the service wise at the bars and restaurants was slow. It takes ages before they will reach out and offer a drink or food menu. The hotel doesnt provide any tours and doesn’t collaborate with the travel agencies to offer such services. They dont have any entertainment either, it feels like you stay in the retirement community. 🙃 It is centrally located within the walking distance to the major institutions and downtown area."

"The rooms were unfortunately very dirty. My parents had eight lizards in their room and they pooped on their bed. We did have an amazing time with the staff. Inoki, Mere, and Chef Fakhim were beyond kind to us and made the best drinks, had the best service, and made us feel special. Exceptional staff and service though the cleanliness was not nearly the best we’ve experienced in Fiji."

"The property is in the heart of the city with 24/7 security. The staff is very welcoming and have charming personalities. Parking is on fifth floor, can be a bit tricky turning tight corners. However,the shower pressure was a bit low 🚿"

I would caveat that it’s not for everyone, there are limited options of food, there’s no room service, and some of the staff returns home every night. "I was initially in another, similarly priced, hotel in Suva that was so unpleasant I decided to move. Capricorn was such a relief - the room is spacious, bright, well layed out and the view is spectacular. It was great to have an outdoor porch and to have the opportunity to prepare simple meals. The location was also excellent. Just up the hill from the main downtown shopping area so food courts and other restaurants were easy to access. "Loved the autgentic Fijian vibe and nature here. Pond was brown due to previous rain but beautiful trees, atmosphere, staff and amenities. Peaceful at times but sometimes bit noisy at night with other holiday makers. Wonderful food in the restaurant, very relaxing. Comfy bed and room had all i needed, though cant remember if microwave as i didnt cook but fridge there and tea and coffee."
