The COVID-19 pandemic may have changed how we travel, but it hasn't stifled our desire to explore. Here are some tips on how to tackle travel's new challenges:

• Research if any travel restrictions apply to your destination and origin before booking anything. Also check if there are any requirements you'll need to follow on arrival, such as installing a contact tracing app.
• When you pass through airport checkpoints, do not remove your face mask. You will be required to briefly lower it to confirm your identity. Travellers who refuse to wear a face mask may be denied entry or boarding.
• To reduce the potential of cross-contamination, position your boarding pass on the scanner yourself and then hold it up for inspection. Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA agent.
• You can now take one container of hand sanitizer up to 12 oz (350 ml) in your carry-on bag. You'll have to remove it for screening.
• To minimize handling during screening, put items such as your wallet, phone and belt into your carry-on rather than the bins.
• Transport any food items in a clear plastic bag and also put them in a screening bin. Keeping your food separate from your carry-on makes it less likely that a TSA agent will need to open your bag for inspection.
